We may have our problems but at least we don't have Bendtner as a striker. That gives me hope.

Be prepared to be surprised again chaps ( and Beth ) we're going to win this one, and once again it will be in the final ten minutes. All the doom and gloom of recent times will soon be in the past. All of a sudden DT's eighth place finish won't look so ridiculous. Start believing my pedigree chums.

I'm trying Nines.. We can, should, f*kk, we will win today!

Their only major threat is Sessignon IMO, and with all 11 sitting on him (especially Paddy) he'll be a small, squashed, despiced French sausage.

This has to be a match we target for a win with Arsenal/Man U following not offering too much hope of anything. One of the main criticisms of O'Neill from Villa fans was he would play the same nucleus (9 or 10 players) every game and didn't utilise the depth of his squad and their performances deteriorated as the season went on through tiredness. Having said that he fielded a weaker side at Blackburn and they were very poor. I really don't know what to expect from today's game, Sunderland will surely not be as bad as they were against Blackburn and we surely can't be as poor as we were for most of the Liverpool game. A draw would be a good result but we need a win...

On the late-running train up to the North now.......

We really need all 3 points from this one, and can't afford the shockingly slow start that we had on Wednesday night

I would have Mackie on the bench again, but bring him on with 30 mins to go to provide that energy boost that he always seems to give the side

Our defence still worries me - a lot of wild hacking away of the ball on Wednesday night, and some statue;like defending for both Liverpool goals, though to be fair you don't normally expect the opposition to be able to get away with such a blatant handball as happened prior to Coates brilliant strike

I know we can win today - I think Sunderland will have at least one eye on their cup replay

we will have one eye on Tuesday anf for that reason there will e a number of changes and the lads who come in will want to play for a place on Tuesday so the fact we have the cup game could well work against you as much as for you.

Sess is back with a piont to prove as well

I think he picked up the armband on Wednesday and was captain during The suspension of our club captain ( not using his name as I don't want to kick off all that crap on this thread too). Good for Anton, he has gone through rubbish this year that has nothing to do with football, and is, criminally, still not over.

Goal, Bendtner. Kenny isn't very good these days. I wish Cerny stayed in the team when he had his really good stint earlier this season.
