This thread appears to be out of control! It's going round in circles and off at tangents all at the same time. The OP asks if Kenny is good enough? My simple answer is MORE THAN. To my mind the real question is - is the squad yet good enough to go where Kenny wants to lead them? My simple answer to that is NO. As for the power brokering with LFC. We know that Ayre is the General Manager, that DC is the Director of Football Affairs and Kenny is the manager. Whilst each will have their own responsibilities the decision to negotiate with other clubs for players will be taken by all 3. Ayre will have the responsibility for coordinating and agreeing monies from FSG and all of the other commercial issues. DC will have the responsibility for actually conducting the negotiation with the selling club, the player and his agent. Kenny, having been included in the decision to buy or not will then be left free to manage the squad. That's how I see it.
If my mind doesn't mistake me, didn't we shell out 25 million for Suarez to show that? I think Torres put us in a tough spot and the venom would have been at Torres more than NESV. If given 2 days to find a replacement ( maybe a few more) worth the same as Torres, you would have been a crazy supporter to have had a go at NESV for not buying someone " right then". When we bought Carroll weren't loads skeptical about it? Lose lose for them it seemed then.
I will call you the same: a moron and a TWAT twice over. You come here all macho but you go to the mancs board to bend over: This is the disgusting thing you wrote: Moronic, TWAT, DISGUSTING and PATHETIC. You call yourself a Liverpool fan? I WOULD NEVER RIDICULE MY TEAM IN FRONT OF THE MANCS At least the other fans here are prepared to discuss their points of view. This is NOT a Kenny Dalglish Fan Club, It is Liverpool Football Club which is bigger than a single individual
I expect change, but I will not speculate on what that change will be, I'll leave that to the owners.
Simply put indeed. Trying to fathom why your answer if you actually needed one would not be: "don't care" But alas you're a united fan so I suppose it is an important subject for you.....
Yes i know because i am a Utd supporter my imput is probably not welcome, but, i am sure there was an interview with DC near the begining of the season whereby he stated he has no say on actual appointments of players. He said the manager/ club told him what position and type of player they were looking for and he and his network would make reccomendations. He also stated in the same interview that the manager had the final say in any purchases. This interview was either on SkyS or one of the newspapers not long after KD took over if anyone wishes to dig any deeper on this.
I agree. We should have brought someone on loan. The time to buy was during the summer. I would have preferred to have Torres (at his best) but £50 million if used wisely could and should have greatly enhanced our team. We cannot deny that our firepower or goal scoring ability has got worse compared to the previous season.
Is it the moon or is there something in the water? Why is everybody suddenly so aggressive? I don't see the point in calling each other names for having a different opinion. My opinion with regards the OP is that we shouldn't take any notice of what journos think or say. If anybody isn't doing too well they descend like a flock of vultures and they can all sod off as far as I'm concerned. We are playing some really good football under Kenny, but we obviously lack the killer instinct so far. It's his job to instil that but he needs time. His first job was to stop the rot and get us playing better- he did that. Now he has to take us that step further. Only time will tell if he can do that. He's reshaped the team but the job isn't done yet. Broad changes were made but a lot of fine tuning still needs to be done. To change managers at this stage would just put us back to square one because an incoming one would change things all over again. As for the post by Itsnotjustagame- for me, anyone else is entitled to join in a debate if their input is constructive. It's only wumming that's unwelcome because it destroys threads and prevents debate.
He's out of his depth, wasted our money with mediocre players and we are worst of then we were 2 seasons ago. He needs to go but not now, in the summer.
I am fed up with Kenny's own fans giving other Liverpool fans abuse for criticising. We are all entitled to our views.
Ofcourse you are entitled to air your views, but when those views are so consistant in criticising the management without looking at the bigger picture expect them to be questioned.
The-king, I am quite happy for them to be questioned. I take exception to being abused. As if you could not question Kenny at all. He is a legend. But as a modern manager he is not doing well.
Just because he is a club legend does not mean he is above criticism but, like The King said, it is the bigger picture that needs to be considered. We have been playing good football but not scoring enough goals. The last couple of games as seen us score three goals but concede a lot more, could Kenny have told the players to push on and attack more in an attempt to get more goals? However, I am starting to fear for Kenny's job come the summer. He needs to stop this rot and quickly. He need at least four wins and a couple of draws out of the last eight games IMO, preferably better.
