£20 for my ticket on Tuesday £38 for my ticket at City away £20 travel to Manchester £30 beer money IF we get through at least £150 on Wembey. Not everyone can afford it. Don't know why people are so bothered about attendances. We created a better atmosphere against Arsenal with like 26k at the SOL than we do when we have 38k plus.
Nah don't go along with that. Your either a fan or your not. Some are more committed, some are better off, some have different priorities. I manage only a handful of games each season as I work a lot of weekends and I prioritise rent and bills over getting to a game. I've always hoped one day I'd be in a position to have a season ticket but life gets in the way as it does for many others. I may be a part time attendee but I'm a full time fan.
I'm not having excuses for a lot of people who could go but choose not to, now I'm not having a go at people who live away I am not having a go at people at work
Agreed, my shifts have changed & will be working a lot of Saturday's but some on here think if you don't go to every home 7 away game you should be slotted.
I'm not having a go at those who can't afford it but I'm not having it that Sunderland and it's out lying areas cannot muster 48,000 people for the first quater final we've been in for years. I'm not having a go at season ticket holders who go home and away and costs are running up, I don't know how you afford it in the first place. I'm having a go at the people who will simply go to the pub and watch it. If you've got enough money to be going into the pub you can afford the match. The players don't hear the shouts and cheers from the pub.
Thing is bud you can watch any game online now. **** the pub man. 10 bottles of Carlsberg Export for £5.99 at my local shop. If I can go, I go. If, for whatever reason I can't, then I don't. Simple.
Not necessarily mate I've watched a few games in the pub but don't go on a bender cos I'm in a pub. 90% of the time I'm on diet coke or push the boat out and have two pints of caffreys. I may however be in the minority.
I now have aspare ticket as my son has just been invited into a box. Any takers? Half way line in the prem concourse
I reckon most of those will be people who are gambling on us getting to the semis or even final and maybe attendance at this one will be a prerequisite of getting a ticket for the other games. Nothing against them as it fills the coffers and the ground, as for people not supporting the team by not going that is bullshit. They will go to games they will buy shirts etc. so they support the team the way they can, when they can.
I would say that is true for many supporters. However there are also most certainly many of fans who could afford to go to the games, but choose to watch the games in pubs instead.
Must admit I would love to see a full stadium but cant say I lose any sleep over it and I certainly don't look down on any supporter who does not go. We all have our own ways of supporting, following and living life and we all have differing priorities that change through life.
Agreed mate for a tenner you get what 3 pints ish but, it's their decision to watch in a pub they aren't any less of a supporter than you or me or anyone on here. Maybe these fans need a bit more from the lads and the club before they return because most will have seen the ups and downs over the last decade or two and, are just waiting for it to go pop.
Your right MrRAW. 3 of my now ex mates choose to do this even tho they are all single and on between 35-40 grand a year each.
Back up from uni for Easter so will be able to make this one. Really can't wait! Typically we're playing Manchester City while I'll be in the NE though...
