I'm hoping Rosberg grabs pole because I've got money on it. Just hope Vettel can make it to the second row in qualifying, Red Bull seem a little kinder on their tyres than McLaren and especially Mercedes, I think he could win the race from 3rd or 4th if he keeps himself out of traffic early on.
The Button/Hamilton debate has made an inevitable return within this thread. And, as always, there are two sides to any argument. Now, I'm not taking sides but I feel it worth saying that the Prost/Senna comparison is valid. Very valid.
Button's car had a vibration from the tyres, didn't it? Button is better at conserving his tyres than Hamilton. There's too much evidence from the real world to back it up for it not to be true. But the thing about Hamilton driving around problems? What does that even mean? Hamilton is just as susceptible to bad set up and mechanical problems as everyone else, and will quite happily blame them when he gets a bad result. If Hamilton gets a puncture he's out of the race. If Hamilton's engine loses power he simply won't be able to go as quick. Maybe you could give me an example of a problem that Hamilton has driven around. I'd really like to find out. If you are going for the Senna/Hamilton vs Prost/Button comparison I think you meant to say that it will be Prost/Button who wins the most WDCs and races, seeing as Prost won 4 titles to Senna's 3.
How about the MP4-24? I'd say he drove around many problems in that bucket of cac! I agree with allsaints on this one. You give Button a near perfect car and he's pretty untouchable. Again you can look at 2009. When the car was on top form and he ran away with races... When the car was less than perfect he complained no end and his results suffered. Hamilton has won in cars the needed picking up by the scruff on the neck and dragging to the finish line kicking and screaming. They are different drivers and it's okay to acknowledge their strengths and weaknesses. It does however seem that to acknowledge any strength that Hamilton may have results in dismissal. Button and Hamilton are chalk and cheese... The current regs do generally favor Buttons style of driving, but that doesn't diminish either drivers talent.
Hi guys. It's good to be back here just like last week to talk about the enticing prospect of another anticipating Grand Prix! For me this weekend has marks similar to that of the Chinese Grand Prix in 2008. You know the one. Where Lewis Hamilton completely dominated the whole weekend from start to finish, only failing to top the timesheets in Saturday morning practice I believe. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a pole, race win and fastest lap from Lewis this weekend. The McLaren does in indeed look faultless particularly in the hands of Lewis on Friday practice. And you can be assured that it will look fairly flawless in the hands of Button after last weekends perfect race from him. Who will be on pole? Despite some predictions after their pace in practice today I don't see it being Mercedes. I believe both Mercedes cars will apply more downforce to their car tomorrow in order to combat the more rapid tyre degradation experienced. Therefore sacrifice qualifying performance for a solid race performance. Red Bull? Well judging by the last two years you're almost expecting them to find the key and unlock the pace when they need to. But for Vettel to be half a second behind Hamilton in Friday practice was a bit surprising. Strong on the long runs though and I'm sure they'll be content with lining up behind the McLaren's because for qualifying I feel that Hamilton is a solid favourite for pole with Button 2nd completing another McLaren front row lockout. All will be revealed in a few hours!
I think Hammy is looking good for pole (though I'm hoping Grosjean nails it since my v-quids are on him) but Button will be a handful again in the race. I'm also curious to see how RB are going to perform this weekend. Even if they don't get on the front two rows there's a good chance that they can still be there in the race. Do we know if it's going to tonk it down yet?
Those watching free stream, firstrowsports have loads better picture quality than vipbox for this sesion(FP3) :O
Yeah, it was their hospitality unit that caught fire thanks to an electrical fault in a fridge. So they've had to relocate to down near Marussia.
Possibly; It was found to contain five gallons of ice-crean and 70 bottles of vodka. Bloody hell Romain...
