Morning all. Having read Warnocks bit in the YEP, looks like there will be a massive clear out come the summer. Tomorrow, given that we've all but given up the chance of top 6, I would start with Paynter & Becchio up front with McCormack playing anywhere he fancies in midfield. This would be Paynter's probable final opportunity to show why he should be retained for next season. If he can't either score or lay chances on a plate for someone else, he should go. Somma will be back for next season & will probably go out on loan to get game time. I would also start with Rodgers or Sam to see which one might be retained for next season assuming Snoddy & Webber are certainties to be part of the squad. I would continue with Brown & Clayton in central midfield. As to the CB pairing, are AOB, Bruce, & Bromby fit? If they are, I'd rest one of our current CBs to see which others might be retained for next season & beyond. I think whatever side NK puts out, we'll see a reaction & we'll win. At least it keeps alive our slim chances of top 6.
Cheers Marko. It would be nice to have someone on the right wing with a good right foot to balance Snoddy's approach. Yes, I know he's got two good feet & can cross with either foot. But he's predominantly left footed. We need to see more balls coming from the deadball line to around the penalty spot, preferably then met by our lot ruhsing on to it.
This is why we miss Gradel. Him and Snods switching sides every few minutes meant we had exactly this.
True Marko. But Gradel wanted to be with his family, who apparently couldn't settle in Yorkshire so moved back to France. C'est La Vie.
He also was never offered a contract. His family consists of his two younger siblings, who he takes care of (at least financially) because his single mum died 3-4 years ago.
Propaganda, plain and simple. We never once heard that from the horse's mouth, did we? And there are similar 'reports' circulating that he can't settle in France now and wants to come back! I'd certainly say that the evidence (i.e. him saying he'd love a renewed contract a month before he left) suggests he was more than happy in Leeds. Bates sold him for a quick buck and to avoid another embarrassing contract fiasco.
Thank goodness there are others who see through the odious smoke billowing out of that crevice that is mostly in Monaco.
I don't think you'll find too many on this site who are convinced by it. Sickpot Central, this place is.
Think your confusing pro-bates with don't think we can do much about him.Don't know 1 person myself who likes or wants bates.
Oh, there are some that are right up his ass on ja606. Personally, I want to see much more of the Turner twins, Taylor and Thompson. They all did well pre-season up at Motherwell and Back here at Richdale when they got a chance. That French lad at Rochdale was a right handul - Mendy? - wonder what happened to him. Can't believe he spent 3 weeks here having to pay his own hotel bill. Tight git Bates. What kind of message does that give out? I have had to reluctantly accept that we're going nowhere (other than down) while Bates is at the helm. I just wish the prices were lower so many more could watch us going nowhere.
Don't fret, we are still in the driving seat and everyone wants to play for Leeds United. Haven't you be listening to Yorkshire Radio?
There are a fair few around, and I notice even more when I'm at Elland Road, on the bus to the ground, in the stands etc. Lots of people who revel in spouting the line 'let's not forget that we wouldn't have a club without him', as if that excuses all manner of detritus chairmanship ever since, if you even believe that line. I still think it's sad that a lot of people won't actively speak or act against him, especially considering the Trust, the protests and the fanbase as a whole have now conclusively shown that Leeds fans can affect Bates, and indeed oust him if we work hard enough.
Not really, I just catch up on his drivel on thesquareball, but for some reason there's no transcript this week so either the fat **** has banned the square ball from listening, or they are just slack.
All in good time my friend. The whole "He saved our club" line makes me vomit. It's like a fireman going up to the house of someone he saved, knocking on the door and saying "make me some dinner. I saved your life, you know!"
