Shelvey made a frustrated and much debated tweet after the game the other night.

There have been reports Sterling is unhappy about his lack of first team football, leading to his mum wanting him back in London, interesting Spurs.

Should we be worried? Or do those players need to learn there place?

Sterling is a talent, and Shelvey should be playing ahead of Adam, but as we always say, no-one is bigger than the club.

After watching the NextGen savaging by Ajax, I have to change my opinion that Sterling is ready for 1st team duty, as he fell away to invisibility when it all went south. Maybe he is ready to dip his toe into a fully firing and winning team, but at the moment having him in our team would just put strain on the unit.

If he goes it will be a loss, but, it is not he will be the next Messi or Suarez, he will just be a fast tricky winger with bags of pace and a few tricks, something akin to Downing.

sterling is a heap of rubbish. he's 17, barely old enough to wipe his bum and on his first pro contract. utter ****e...

shelvey can make a tweet and he can IMO go sit in the reserves to rot... Its not like i care. the 3 mil was G&H debt moeny and to be frank the guy has no engine and no vision either. sell him on if he wants to go, no loss at all... there was a reason why mr shelvey was sent on loan you know.... that ebing he was nver likely to get a game this year. Can't he see that?

Dalglish also suggested he may return to being out on loan if it doesn't look like the games are there for him, but he is still here.

  5. One thing I am 100% certain of is that Kenny will not be pushed into a corner and certainly won't back down to player power meaning Sterling as made sure he won't get a game this season with his comments.

Shelvey's comments were not disrespectful. He merely says he is disappointed not to be playing and knows he needs to work harder making it more difficult for the manager to leave him out. what is wrong with that...?

    I think you're harsh MITO.

Shelvey is a raw talent - has a pretty good range of passing and has similar traits to Steven Gerrard (still a long way to go!).

Sterling needs to keep improving and has no right to think he is ready for the first team. Still one of our brightest youngsters.

no doubt sterling needs to improve and he could be great... everyone clamouring for him should look and realise that hey.....

gerrard was the exact same at 18 that evans watched him and it was houllier who put him in... look at the injuries he got from growing... look at owens injuries. sterling should be protected, not over played and is he actually growing still?

shelvey is raw but he's not got the engine henderson has. i don;t see him being anything but jimmy bullard... which aint half bad but we are not looking at a ramsey or whilshire here... he's decent and will be a squad member.

Youngsters definitely have to be protected from injuries.

We should be happy that our young players are wanting to play.

Shelvey should get game time from now until the end of the season. he is always in the subs, so with Adam injured he should certainly get some game time.

Sterling should have his first taste this season, but not for more than a couple of 15 minute stints.

Sterling needs to take a leaf out of flanno or Robinsons book, for a time last season they were both 1st eleven regulars, but have had to fit in to life in the reserves again this season, which they have done without complaining.

Stirlings mum should keep her thoughts to herself.....If she wants her son to make it to be a top footballer, she should leave it to the experts instead of sticking her uneducated oar in........Sounds to me that she just wants to move back to london and that is her priority not her sons future.

    Nice.

I expect Flanagan to play some more if Kelly is doubtful. Though it sounds like Kelly will play against Wigan.

As for the Shearer, Dalglish link, maybe we could take advantage. Dalglish will teach the players a lot. But I would like to see a younger person in as well who can really help them get envolved.

Rumours are Adam MAY be out for the season, if thats true Shelvey will defo get more game time, the only issue with is perhaps it may mean Adm issnt sold at the end of the season , cos he aint even squad player class in my book

Rumour is also Kelly will be fit, glad cos dont think Flanno is technically good enough and he has no pace and gives me the jitters.I expect Coates may get the nod ahead of Carra

Something tells me Sterling STILL wont be involved, best for him may be the bench

I suspect the 11 may be something like this

    Reina
    Kelly Skrtel Coates Jose
    Shelvey Stevie Jay Downing
    Carroll Suarez

Oh and back on topic Sterling IMO is wrong to think that he should get first team play.Like i said the other day maybe give him a game in our pre season but defo not before then

And like mentioned there have been players in the past that were rushed through and their body was not build enough for the physical side of the game
No he needs to grow a bit more and bulk up maybe to

As for Shelvey if the rumour is right that Adam is out for the season Shelvey will get his chance if he hasn't blown it with tweeting

There will be game starts for Kuyt now unless KD decides to put Shelvey in the middle and Hendo on the right. We don't have to wait long before we find out the game is in 30 hours
