I don't think it makes much difference either way Finglas. He's been rubbish since he signed confident or not. The team will play far better with him out of it. Unless of course he takes a long hard look at himself and starts putting in the effort.
I think it does matter Swords. If one of our players form is bad because a load of boo boys are constantly booing him I think it makes a huge difference. Do you pick the team or Mark Hughes? If the Manager believes he is worth his place, thats all that matters. I see him putting in huge effort. His confidence is shattered because of the booing.
us fans pay big money to watch our team and i'm of the opinion expressing our views is part of it,players on 70k a week should be putting in 100% every week to show us fans they are paying us back our loyalty.if i wish to be vocal towards a player or the whole team i shall do so and care not who doesn't like it.i went to rangers for 40 years before my recent move to america and hate to think how much iv'e spent over the years.i always give praise where it's due as well so it's a balance.if i feel someone is not giving 100% i will let them know and i will applaud good performances too.onwards and hopefully upwards YOUUUUUUUU RRRRRRSSSSS
Brilliant, thats why I like to see it for myself rather than someone telling me!!! So to summarise 1. Barton is 4th rated overall 2. Barton is 3rd Defensively 3. Barton is 4th attacking 4. Barton is top of the passing And now Derry who everybody admires has come out in support of Barton, sounds like real division in the camp! Maybe we should have a real go at Young next or Onouha as their pass rate is worse and that is dangerous coming out from the back. And thats before we have ago at HH and Cisse because theirs is far worse and we dont want to get caught on the counter attack!
I see Barton has got 2 man of the match awards in those stats. Far more than some players not being booed.
The annoying thing with those stats show that the buffoon is making twice as many passes as almost any other player (bar Faurlin). Thats probably because he covers most ground week in week out. The more you do, the more your seen, the more chance for errors but here you get crucified for them.
If you think Hughes only substituted him because of the crowd booing then you're simpler than I first anticipated. He substituted him, quite rightly, because he was having a nightmare. Booing or no booing, he would have been hauled off. Booing your own team/players achieves nothing.
So when I say Barton has been Ok all season, until Liverpool, the Stats show him better than that. Flyer, you reckon him the worse passer in the League and all his games except a few mediocre ones were Cr*p, and said the Statistics support that view??? For me views of Barton's performances on the pitch are extremely prejudiced by views of him off pitch!
I really think you need to start facing reality mate!! Firstly, the booing has only just started, but Barton's form has been poor since the Norwich game. He got huge support when he joined. And on the other point I've highlighted...........he runs a lot, but time and again he doesn't track runners and simply gives the impression of not giving a ****!!
Look above a few posts mate, they are published and they frankly destroy Flyers argument unless he can point me in the right direction!
Col, I am very realistic. I know he hasn't been playing well for a while but if the Manager continues to pick him, he obviously believes in him. The booing of Barton has been going on for months now or at least since the Norwich game which was when, early January. It hasn't only just started. As his confidence has decreased the booing has got louder. So he runs a lot and dooesn't track runners. Give us some examples please to highlight your point.
I think you need to face reailty too. Yours and many others opinions are clouded (maybe understandably) by the fact Barton is an absolute twat off the field. You know it was quite funny a few games ago (can't remember who it was against now), but Barton made a bad pass and everyone around me started groaning and moaning ''f*ck sake Barton'', ''get him off'' etc. Then the very next minute Taarabt made a truly awful pass straight to the opposition and people around me started clapping. Peoples opinions of players and their relative value to the team are so easily influenced by off the field antics. Most stats I've bothered to look at show that Barton is nowhere near our worst player over many categories. People dislike him (rightly so most of the time) so everything he does wrong is magnified and exaggerated x10. I'll be cheering him on on Saturday in any event.
Bit of an odd argument that. Taarabt has been slated mercilessly for his attitude both on and off the pitch, but HE HAS tried to change that and also people realise that Adel is a better player than Joey has ever been and could ever be, so when he gives the ball away he is more easily forgiven. We think that maybe the next ball will be the killer pass etc...it's hard to feel that way about Joey. I don't give a **** what Joey is like off the pitch and I argued this very point with Roller when he first signed. I said then that as long as Joey plays well I will accept his baggage. Roller, to his credit could see the car crash long in advance.
I've been to every home game and I haven't heard anything like what happened on Wed!! People were individually having a go, but with an equal amount defending him. The tide seems to have completely turned against him. As for him not tracking back? The most recent example was against Bolton where he didn't track Klasnic when he hit their late winner. There have been many other examples but, not having a photographic memory, I can't recall them all. Many, many people have commented on it!
Not an odd argument at all, if anything you support my point. If someone the crowd likes (Taarabt - despite leaving a game at half time, despite throwing his shirt on the floor last season, despite looking disinterested and asking to come off against hull(?)) makes a bad pass, they see it as ''well at least he's trying to do the right things and trying to pass to our player'' and applaud him. If someone the crowd dislikes (Barton) does the same he's castigated and boo'd. I can't remember too many people booing Taarabt when he's looked disinterested or has lost the ball because of needless and over elaborate play. The stats on this thread show Barton is nowhere near our worst player over many categories. Everything is just magnified by the fans because they don't like him as a person. FYI I don't particulalry like him either, but I don't let that influence my views of him as a player.
