Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has apologised to a nine-year-old football fan after he broke his wrist with a stray shot. Jamie Thomas, from Wem in Shropshire, was watching Manchester United for the first time at Wolves on Sunday when the shot hit his arm during the warm-up. Rooney said on Twitter: "I want to apologise to Jamie Thomas. "I have arranged for a letter and a signed shirt to be sent to his home address." It is not thought that Rooney was aware of the incident at the time. Jamie's father, Andy, said the injury happened when Rooney and Javier Hernandez were taking shots at goal. Rooney missed the target and the ball headed towards Jamie. He put out his hands to stop it hitting him and it broke his wrist. Thomas Sr told the Shropshire Star: "It shook him up a bit but he's fine about it now and I don't think it's put him off going to other games. "I don't think Rooney realised what he had done, otherwise I am sure he would have come over." Hernandez scored twice in the match as United went on to win 5-0 . ...................................... Wonder who is going to write the letter for him..
Commachio, what ever happened to that supporter who was hit by a wayward shot at our training ground, has he dropped his claim or what.
Think Cisse arranged to have a letter and signed t shirt sent to his home address.... But heard a rumour the same fans is planning to be at the end of Roker pier on Sat afternoon to catch the ball after another Cisse shot goes wayward... But apart from that, iv'e heard nowt mate.
Maybe they can get Southall to draft them up an e-mail... Everton legend Neville Southall has come up with a unique way to raise some funds during his retirement – he is responding to fans' emails for money. Southall has launched a website called asknevillesouthall.com where he says: "you can get personal advice from me on any football related subject. Simply pay for an email or phone consultation below, and I will be in touch asap." Southall will respond to an email within 72 hours for a fee of £49 while you can conduct a one-hour conversation with him over the phone for £99. The Welsh stopper is considered one of the greatest British goalkeepers of all time and was named Football Writers' Player of the Year in 1985 – the last goalkeeper to receive the honour. Southall played a club record 750 times for Everton between 1981 and 1998 and was capped 92 times by Wales. Southall explains on the website: "Surprise, after many years of people telling me to get online, I have now dived in and got a website set up, mainly so people can ask me questions as everywhere I go goalkeepers come up and ask me for tips and advice, and well I can’t be everywhere all the time. "So hence the site and the option to either arrange an answer to your questions by email or a one hour phone call chat."
He's to blame for public no longer being allowed to attend the training ground sessions - arsehole - hate the way the world is nowadays with everyone sueing everyone for everything! Does my head in man
Trying to keep all my strange and some disturbing news in one place... This one is the latter, a disturbing tale about schoolkids that have people at each others throats.. .................................................. ................................................ Police have arrested and since bailed a 10-year old boy for delivering a brutal kick to a prone opponent’s head during a school football match between ESF Lions and Kitchee Escola in Hong Kong on Monday afternoon. The ‘ESF’ in the Lions’ name stands for the ‘English Schools Foundation,’ which is a initiative set up to educate the children of ex-pats around the world and – as the child responsible was white and his 12-year old victim was Asian – it should come as little surprise that the parents of the latter filed a police complaint after the game which has led to the ESF Lions being branded as ‘white bullies’ in certain circles. Yep, a school football match has become the centre of a footballing race row. We don’t wish to get embroiled, but seeing as the Lions lost 16-0 the last time they played Kitchee (rumour has is that the Lions also lied about the score, claiming they had won 3-2) and they were already 4-0 down at the time of the cranial assault, maybe complete and utter humiliation may have also played its part? No doubt giving advice on diets and stuff.. the guy is about 25 stone now! Put him in wor goal and we'd never concede again.
Surely Rooney should have invited the kid to the ground or something to meet him? He's just gave an injury to a little kid who will have to put up with it for months. As for Neville Southall, it's a good idea imo. He was one of the best goalies of his time, so it's only fair to pay a fair value to get his professional advice. If you wanted an hours phone consultation with a top businessman or entrepreneur it would probably cost a HELL of a lot more.
**** off man! Southall is a fat Welsh **** that hates everything British as he himself stated in a radio interveiw. Well if he hates it that much then why doesn't he give his OBE back? Sheep ****ing fat twat.
Guilty or not?
Next time, young lad, duck rather than throw you arms up. That way someone behind you cops it and not you. I hope that's clear.
