Friday's racing comes from Newbury and Sedgefield over the jumps and there's an abundance of synthetic surface flat racing from Lingfield, Wolverhampton and Dundalk (otherwise know as Bolgerville Downs).

Quite a few fancies at Newbury:

2.40 Milgen Bay - rarely runs a bad race (although he did last time) and is interesting upped in trip here.

3.15 Velator - still potentially well in despite being upped a massive 17lbs for his last victory

3.50 Reblis - probably ran into an unexposed one last time out and remains on a decent mark

4.25 Kandari - ran a cracking 2 nd on reappearance last time out behind Attaglance (who went on to win the Martin Pipe Conditionals race at the festival off a 9lbs higher mark). Looks the pick at the weights although not one I'll be going mad on as Gibb River is highly respected on this better ground.

5.00 Merry Vic - tremendous performance last time out to run Barbers Shop to half a length after a massive lay off (nearly 5 years) and can pick up the winning thread here.

Lucky 31 on that little lot for me <ok>

    Regal Tramp FC 7/1

I'm Very confident that Vincent Ward's 4 year old filly can she her maiden tag at the 17th time of asking tonight. On her last start, Regal Tramp was a big eye catcher at the course last month over 1m2.5f off a mark of 68. Dropped out at the rear, she made some very good headway over what I feel is slightly too short for her under hands and heels riding from Conor Hoban to finish a 4.75L beaten 6th. That day it certainly seemed that Hoban had a lot of horse left under him and it was a very encouraging display. The form of this race looks pretty strong with the winner Aragorn Rouge finishing narrowly beaten on his 2 subsequent starts, off 5lb and 8lb higher marks respectively. Furthermore, the 4th finished a neck second off the same mark on his only subsequent start and the 7th Indian Scout, 1.5L behind Regal Tramp, has won on his two subsequent starts including off a 12lb higher mark.

Prior to this, Regal Tramp has put in a number of good performances off higher handicap marks, including a 0.5L defeat at the Galway Festival off a mark of 73 over tonights trip as well as consecutive 2nds (although both 5L defeats) off marks of 75. After being dropped a further 3lb form her last effort to 65, tonight's race represents the easiest task to date in Regal Tramp's career as she is stepped into 47-65 rated handicap company for the first time, meaning she will be up against significantly easier opposition than she has faced before. Fran Berry is a very eye catching jockey booking and takes the ride on this 4 year old for the first time. The excellent Berry very much seems Ward's go-to jockey as he was the regular pilot on board the trainer's Listed winner Fictional Account. The draw in stall 9 shouldn't be much of an issue given she doesn't need to race prominently.

With her proving her worth off higher handicap marks in the past in higher grades (her Galway 2nd was in 55-80 rated handicap company) I am 100% convinced she is well up to defying her current mark. With the step back up in trip bound to suit, the booking of Berry and the significant drop in grade I think everything points to a massive run from Regal Tramp. It is also very interesting to note she is declared in a 50-80 handicap race at Leopardstown next week back on the turf so it clearly demonstrates she is in good heart and if connections have any aspirations of landing a race like that then surely she has to be good enough to win a race the quality of tonight's contest. With all signs pointing to a bold display, I'm very confident she can earn her elusive first win for Ward and go on to bigger and better things.

Power Ranger on loan to the owls Odddy. He will rip that league apart if Jones can get him focused on playing football lol.

I put NO LOOSE CHANGE up for his chasing debut as a confident selection and he unseated rider. Ruby on today and I feel this one is well handicapped off a mark of 116. Still not betting so watch him hack up. Good luck all

With Madine too they will have a front pair who are a handful, on and off the pitch.

Morning, pilgrims. Today’s racing may lack the glamour and excitement of last Friday but, in my opinion, there is still some very nice action to be found. I’ll nominate the following to the old regular readers:

Kandari (4.25 Newbury) – was a winner across the water when trained by Noel Meade but his best run to date came last time out when making his debut for old boy Jonjo O’Neill. After the best part of 2 years off Kandari ran a corker to be 2nd to the subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner, Attaglance. Will appreciate the step down in trip and also has the benefit of the Linehan lads claim.

Eshtibaak (4.45 Lingfield Park) - this one runs in a hot handicap containing many with recent winning form. However, I take Mr Gosden's charge to oblige following a very impressive run at Nottingham back in October. Eshtibaak both travelled and quickened like a very good horse that day (the 3rd home, who was brushed aside with contemptuous ease, has on his sole outing since Nottingham scooted up by 6 lengths so the form has a very solid look to it) and can win off 87 here before going onto better things.

Veloce (6.10 Wolverhampton) – I think this one is Interesting, and I do mean Interesting, with a capital I. Veloce had some decent placed form to his name when trained by John Dunlop and Ralph Beckett yet gets in here off a rather lenient looking mark of just 62. His fitness has to be taken on trust, on the gelding’s debut for Ian Williams, but if ‘ready’ he looks more than capable of going close off such a lowly rating.

    Good luck all.

    2.20 Sedge Sublime Talent 2/1
    3.25 Sedge Bellapais Abbey 11/2
    2.10 Newb Fighting Flynn 9/2

There's a few I like the look of today. Not playing these though, and you shouldn't either! The sharper among you will have spotted I haven't delved into any of the handicaps. No exciting reason I just have a couple of things to do.

    One today

    6.40 Trending - 6/1 EW

Ran a better race last time with the cheekpieces on for the first time. He was in the car park that day and now he has a good draw. I think he is about to click into form.

I haven't read what his owners have said on twitter, but given one of them works for Coral, I wouldn't listen to them either <laugh>

big move for Sooraah in the Winter Derby, the 9s went last night and now around 6/1 best price. Some interesting quotes today on the Sportinglife website about how others are going to be better for the run and how Haggis thinks the trip will be fine around Leafy.

Happy enough this lovely afternoon with that, and also I have taken 8/1 on Maldonado finishing top 6 and 16/1 for Senna top 6 in the Malaysian GP this Sunday morning. Shame I will be on the train to London so will miss the end of the race.

Not sure about the owners, but Gask says this about Trending on his blog:

"A large number of eyes will be on TRENDING tonight at Wolvs as he attempts to build on his better run last time at Wolvs. The step up slightly in trip shouldn't pose any problem but he will need to settle and i expect we will adopt similar tactics to last time and get him covered before getting home. His work has been good at home and with a bit of concentration i would expect him to run well. I would however like to see him of turf but initial options in that sphere were a little skinny so hopefully this can provide a good springboard for him. Good luck to all those members of the Twitterati going to support him. "

    Cheers Harb.

I thought that it was about the penny finally dropping LTO, from now on he should be able to improve and go forward from this lowly mark. Yard had winner last night too.
