City has more 'foreign' fans - i.e. fans scattered all over the country/world - than Scunny or Grimsby. I went to 'Hull City Matchdays' stream last night.

....I was at Grimsby! Cheers Blunderside. (Had to follow on BBC text-feed and BBC 5 Live for the goals as they happened).

    TRUE 5H1T!!!!

I 100% agree with you. The City v Leeds game, arguably the biggest home game in terms of a 'derby' was on AM. I was driving home from work and could not attend the game, but was looking forward to the commentary on 95.9 on the drive home. Then announced that we were on AM and Scunny on FM.

It was impossible to follow the game on AM, it was like it was being broadcast from outer space, with sprinklings of the German Philharmonic Orchestra and political events from Outer *****lia and the odd transmission advertising the latest in Lithuanian in car technology sweeping in and out of the transmission. I got home for the second half, to find I no longer have a radio with AM !

The BBC bangs the drum about DAB, (I now have four around the house) but we were not on there either, that was Grimsby Town's match ! So, a match took place only 7 miles from my home, and I could listen to it, thank God for Sky Sports News. I emailed Matt Dean, and he did reply citing that they cant pick up AM in Scunny ! Well, neither could I in Hull ! Also, why oh why do Blunderside allow derogatory texts and emails to be broadcast against City? Example last night from a Scunny fan 'All the best to Nigel Adkins on his return to the KC'. Blunderside NEVER read out derogatory text or emails about Scunny as they are afraid of losing listener-ship on the south bank. BBC Humberside, you are without doubt the worst and most unprofessional local BBC station, end of.

I have a bigger issue with the studio reading out anonymous texts and emails.

There was one last night that took about a minute to read and eloquently slagged the players and management off. Though they weren't able to put their name to it.

I know we all to it here (except Peter Saxton), but it feels even more cowardly on the radio straight after a match that the contributor has probably not attended.

I know it's an old gripe of many, but it really does my head in. Maybe it's also something to do with Christian Pearce's monotone voice that make it seem worse.

    Anyway, if anybody from RH is reading, please consider the following;
no name = no read out

Doesn't matter about a name really does it though? You could sign the text as John Smith, Paul Jones George Clark, whoever, it doesn't matter does it.

There's been more than one suggestion that the texts and emails are internal anyway.

The sad thing is, they see being criticised like this as free publicity. Having tried communication with the local element of our state media, they really don't give a **** about what we think no matter how politely it's put just as long as we're talking about them.

I listen via Tigersplayer and often switch to the opposing side's commentary when I've had enough of Swanny and Burnsey. The guy from radio Solent was a big improvement on Burns, and very fair in his comments about us , but the other guy, Dave ? who managed S'oton in the past was an absolute prat.

I've had the same experience once this season, it was at the end of last year, cant remember which game it was. I have a DAB which doubles as an FM radio, but no AM and the match was on fricking AM. I managed to fish out a 25 year old Sony Walkman with AM on it only to find I had no spare batteries <grr>

the trouble is that 'Umbersard know that they dont cover one area with like minded cultural or socio economic traits. the matt dean thing is probably a feeble effort to make the south bank feel a part of their fabricated listener area. we ahave nothing in common with lincolnshire and they have nothing in common with yorkshire. it's about time we were split away from lincolnshire and teamed up those we have more in common with, ie York, Scarboro, and even Middlesboro and Leeds if you like! let s****horpe and grimsby be partnered with their own in lincoln, sleaford and boston

I don't see why they keep telling us scunny has scored and switch us to their match every now and then. It's annoying.......if we wanted to know what was happening we would be tuned into that wave band ffs.

RH is quite frankly an utter utter joke these days.

The nightly Sportstalk programme is dominated/fronted by that obnoxious Gollum Llloyd - not interested one jot in football and seeks to change the subject to local eggchasing at any opportunity.

Matt Dean is a wet. Burnsie railroaded onto the old age pensioners daily morning chat show - wtf is that all about?

A redrawing of the boundaries coupled with a name change (Humberside was abolished as a local authority 16 years ago and the station has to refers to listeners as being from East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire) - we hate yellow bellies, they hate yorkies, sort it out BBC.

That said the station has always been sh*te - first Peter Ward (a wessie) and then that pr*t Dave Gibbins - an oaf that we had to suffer on two separate occasions when we thought we had rid of him.

Burnsie has been the best asset the station has ever had football wise IMHO.

football aside, can you imagine a radio station that brings in two "local" areas in BBC Radio Merseyside and Manchester?

Don't disagree, although the thick prat in charge of our area will not accept it.

It's interesting when you look around how many people are very strongly opposed to the BBC areas they've been lumbered with, an each one gets a similar, disrespectful, pompous and dismissive reply from the guardians of our national media.

This is another thing I can't stand when they cut to Scunny or Grimsby during one of our games!

They also commented during the game on Luton being the last time we'd beaten a top of the table side at home. It might have just been coincidence, but it just seemed odd after it was metioned on here because I can't remember them doing that before.

Edit: I mean when we've played top of the table sides before, before some smart arse says when we played Leeds it was irrelevent.

With the coverage, other than when we were PL as far back as I can remember the home side got put on AM and the away side was on FM. At least now there's DAB as well so when we're all away they're not struggling to decide which game to not broadcast.
