Watford are hosts to Ipswich Town as the season begins to wind up. Strangely the two teams are almost the divisions best teams on current form.

    WATFORD
    • The Manager – Sean Dyche

    sean2.jpg

“They say things even themselves out so perhaps that's our come-back for the error we suffered at home to Bristol City earlier in the season. I'm not going to get carried away or go over the top, but I thought we did a fine job in the second half keeping our shape and limiting Bristol to only a few sights of goal.”

“I'm not going to get carried away or go over the top, but I thought we did a fine job in the second half keeping our shape and limiting Bristol to only a few sights of goal. I'm delighted for the fans who came down here to support us tonight. While we weren't fluent all evening, I thought we gave them plenty to get excited about and - like us - they go home happy tonight."

    • The Hornets

Jonathan Bond is off on his travels again, this time to Bury so there is no chance of him sitting on thebench. Carl Dickinson will have to behave himself as one more caution will see him suspended for a period. On the injured list Stephen McGinn is still the long tern absentee but he has the company of Dale Bennett Gavin Massey Ross Jenkins and Martin Taylor according to the Watford website, which is out of date by a few weeks. Adrian Mariappa will be missing for a second time with an ankle injury, at least visiting scout will not see how good he is, and John Eustace has a back problem but could be recovered enough to play.

David James a former Hornet on the scoresheet in Bristol and Sean Murray- nearly the same size!

    IPSWICH
    TOWN

    The Manager – Paul Jewell

    Paul_Jewell.jpg

“I thought we were terrific in the second-half and we got the crowd on their feet which we didn't do in the first 45 minutes.”
“There was no tempo to the game in the first-half and we didn't pass the ball at all well but we got into them at the break and the players were excellent after that. We told them to be braver on the ball, believe in themselves and Jet epitomises that, he was a real danger for us throughout the second-half.”
“Burnley are a good team but they didn't really cause us too many problems in the second-half and we definitely deserved the win and it should have been by more.”

    • The Tractor Boys

Ipswich Town say that they have no injury problems.. The one player missing could be Grant Leadbitter after he was sent from the field on Wednesday.

Michael Chopra - the last player in a Watford shirt to score a hat-trick

    Who will win?

    Current form
Ipswich Town and Watford share an identical five match record three wins and two draws. Ipswich have a goal stotal of 10:5 when Watfords is 8:4. The two teams are separated but goal difference in the league, 44:54 for the locals and 60:65 for the visitors.

    Akureyri's Prediction: 3-1
All the numbers point to the Tractor Boys being a little better but the home crowd will help the Hornets win. Unhappily for Tomasz Kuszczak he will not keep three blank scoresheets.

Great thread as per always AK. This will almost certainly be a good game. Both teams are safe but both are out to prove a point. We need to take the 3 points here to make it difficult for them to overtake us when they play their game in hand. I have gone for an unusual prediction for me and said 3-1.

Also there is a matter of pride between myself and a friend at uni. She is a Tractor Girl and is out for revenge.

    great thread <applause>

Town have sold out our allocation. Last time I was at Vicarage Road we woz robbed in the FA Cup 1-0. We're on fire at the moment so I do fancy us to win...

on a slightly different note, I'd appeal for everyone to keep it friendly and positive. I would hate to see a slanging match develop in a week when we've seen how irrelevant our little squabbles are <ok>

Good luck for the game hornets, I fancy 2-0 Town, Chops and JET.

Can't promise that we won't be passionate about our team Lancs, although I too hope it stays positive.

Us Hornets have sad memories of a young player losing his life, so you can be assured of a good reception for Muamba. <ok>

We're Ipswich's bogey team....not saying we'll win, as Ipswich have matched our great form, but I can't see us losing....I think we have goals in us....and we've been fairly good at the back recently......

great thread as ever Ak, thank you muchly :). This season, we've lost to teams who we have been the bogey team for...but hopefully on Saturday we'll buck that trend and take all three points. I hope we're not charging Ipswich fans what they charged us..i'd hate us to be hugely expensive! <yikes>

Great thread as always AK - 5 *'s from me.

Difficult game as our guests from deepest Suffolk are looking good at the moment - good to see Paul J turning it around as I quite like him.

I am going for a 2-2 draw...COYH and looking forward to a cracking game.

H - I wonder if reciprical charging is the answer?

certain sympathy with that W-y , I fail to see why some clubs like us do kids for a quid and various "special rates" and other clubs just rip the fans off! Leeds Ipswich take note.

I don't think Mapps missing a couple more games is too big a deal. Tiny needs the playing time, and everyone knows that a fit Aidy Mariappa is the first name on the team sheet.

We are cheaper than other clubs on most measures and that's the way it is, but there should be some sort of reciprocality.

We offer opposing fans a cheap rate by Championship standards, and some the opportunity to bring their kids for a quid. Opposing clubs charge our travelling support prices which suggest we should think twice about feeding ours.

Also what a club charges is what they think their value is and what the most their supporters will pay.

Leeds are obviously the best in their area and Ipswich have no competition in the east.
