Great comment FJ it looks like you are coming around! Have you been up that mountain and seen the burning bush?
So how would you feel if there was no booing and Hughes kept him on and we lost 4-0, would that have been better for you? Just sitting there and watching the game being thrown away is stupid.
lucky bottles weren't thrown at him? jebus...what kind of a person are you? especially given some of the things football fans have seen this week...you've never had a bad game? i agree barton's form is off for you, but the kind of person he is, i cant see reacting to it like this pushing him to try harder - he'll just dig his heels in, spout off on twitter and put the money in his bank account each week...and while he might be off form at the minute, he is very much a player you'll need if you are going to stay up... really good result last night...
Hes not off form for the minute, he hasnt been on form for the whole season, hes been bad all season but last night was embarrassing, he was no better than a hung over pub footballer unable to even get a 50% pass completion ratio until he realised he was having a shock and then didnt pass longer than 10 yards.
I have just worked out that if you change the first letter of his surname with a C it spells Carton ... which is handy when he has to move out
Flyer, you appear to be raging a crusade against JB and it is summed up by the comment above. I think it leaves you in a position where you cannot look objectively. Yes he was poor last night and yes his form has not been great however he has had some good games and some average games. The quality to replace would have been no better. I'm no fan of his but I can accept a view on its merits. His free kicks are generally poor and should be relieved of that duty which in itself relieves some pressure. I will not defend everything but theer are plenty of others who have had good and bad games throughout the season. If he now responds to the boos and being subbed, and excels in training and starts on Saturday how will you respond? Do you give him a chance and trust in MH or just boo from the start having a detrimental effect on everyone?
The quality to replace would have been no better, you mean the guy who went on to score the winner? If he excels then I will be speechless. He has misplaced more passes than any other PL player this season.
I respect your opinion but all i'm asking is do you allow him the chance to respond and excel or would you show your displeasure and boo from the outset which could have negative influences throughout the team?
No, I will not applaud him, neither will I boo him unless he plays like that. I will seriously thinking about not renewing until he is gone.
I don't get what's so funny. I've never taken drugs. Can I presume that you have? The fact that you may have concerns me greatly.
All I can say on this matter is; 1, The manager picks the team not the fans. The fans have no right to continue booing any player until the Manager subs him off the pitch. I don't care how much they paid for their tickets. The managers job is the managers job, end of. We have too many fans who think they know best. 2. Keep the booing up and we will DEFINETELY get relegated. It sends the wrong message out to our own fans and the opposition that we are not united. 3. I'd rather have a player trying his hardest out on the pitch, even if things arn't going right for him than a bunch of idiots booing in the stands. Booing him must be affecting his confidence and does not help the team at all. 4. So the choice is, continue booing and we go down or stop booing and we have a chance of staying up. We got lucky the other night, it wont happen every week.
1) He plays rubbish all season and winds up the other players, fans take out a year's frustration on the captain so forcing MH to sub him, crowd and players all feel a weight lifted from their shoulders, 3 goals come in 15 minutes. 2) See 1
Look at the end of the day we the fans are allowed to voice our opinion as we pay good money to be entertained and quite frankly Barton is not entertaining us so I think they had every right to let rip as he has got worse since Hughes came in. Maybe it's time to drop him for a few game let him play in the reserves and see if he can get his act together.
Agree! Better to stay at home where the players and manager won't hear you, if you need to boo your own team!
I think you miss the point. I agree that booing your own players isn't the way to go....BUT....WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF BARTON!! It isn't just his poor form, I agree that we must support players who are going through a bad patch, but I get the feeling that a lot of fans believe Joey has unsettled the dressing room and undermined our season! It may only be perceived and not actually true, but the fans have turned!! When Barton joined, he was loudly cheered when his name was announced and given loud support from the fans around me in Ellerslie....that's evaporated now and I believe he only has himself to blame!! Laughing for ages after yet another blunder on Wed summed it up for me!!
Or it might mean he wont play and we wont play terrible for the rest of the season. Barton is officially the worst passer in the league.
