The current ban on gay and unmarried couples should remain in place until the Stormont Assembly decides otherwise, the Attorney General has said. John Larkin, QC, said adoption laws were to ensure child welfare rather than satisfy the wishes of would-be parents. Mr Larkin was representing the Department of Health in a legal challenge brought by the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. The body is attempting to force a legislative change which would bring adoption laws into line with the rest of the UK. It claims the current status, as it stands in the Civil Partnership Act 2004, is discriminatory and breaches human rights. I don't see what's wrong with gays adopting. There's kids out there who need loved and cared for, why not? Nick of some folk who have natural kids ffs.
I understand that, but I was merely drawing the line for any that may fancy adopting and let their hands/ cocks/ deviant minds wander
Arse bandits and rug munchers should NEVER be allowed to adopt. I've nothing against these weirdos but you have to draw the line.
We had a gay adoption debate last year. Think that was the first time the polar opposite ideaologies of myself and dev met, dont think we have found a topic to agree upon yet
Who cares what the orientation of the adopters are, as long as they're able to bring the kids up in a stable caring environment, we should be tackling the millions of feckless ****s who have kids but fail to bring them up properly, the ones who've failed their first, second, third etc. kids, but then still want more, shouldn't compulsory sterilisation for these 'people' be a priority?
I agree. Sexual preference has no bearing on how good a parent someone will be. Unless they are a ****phile like Huth, of course.
So did you say Gay couples should not be allowed to adopt? I don't actually remember. ps We both agree Medro is a massive ****er
