don't agree with booing our own players even when they have a bad game like barton did, he's not been playing well at all & his passing game is something else & i applaud hughes for taking him off & agree might not have won that game if he stayed on.

Barton himself needs to recognise he isnt a playmaker so needs to cut out the crappy Hollywood pass attempts. Get back to what your supposed to be good at - Winning the ball in the middle of the park and playing it on to those in front with better technical ability.

Oh and on a side note - Show me a person that says Joey can take set pieces and ill show you a liar!

Agree with this. Barton was truly awful last night and it's no coincidence we prospered after he was replaced. (Mackie has the never-say-die attitude we'll need in forthcoming game, and despite not being our most technically gifted player, he has an uncanny knack of knowing where the goal is - His game time - goals scored ratio must be quite impressive)

Having said all that, I still think Barton may play an important part in our season. May be the substitution is just what is needed to get him to focus on playing, and not on giving the world the benefit of his advice over twitter.

You made your name on the pitch, Joey - show us why!

Or perhaps it won us the game and Hughes might have kept him on if he wasnt booed. Its wasnt 1 bad game but hes been terrible all season, the fans have to let the manager know we dont want him to play or we will go down.

I know, Barton 0 goals from about 100 set pieces, SWP 1 goal from 1 corner, Adel 1 goal from about 10 corners and Buz 1 goal from about 5 FKs,

I agree with nearly all posts in some way, I also do not like us booing our own players, however he has been awful for the best part of the season and the frustration is there for all the fans to see. I was watching on the ****iest online stream ever in Holland could feel the relisf lift all around the ground from the fans and players and myself, this is no coincidense.

I personally think it is a good thing he was booed as this maybe the only way to get his attention and for him to up his game, don't forget, if rumours are to be believed he dishes it out plenty to his team mates because HE obviously believes you should berate people to get them going!! TBH on the form he has shown this season he is lucky to be in the 25 as I for one have not seen the quality he apparently possess.

Just lets hope that if he is so willing to dish it out IS he man enough to take it? And do something about it!

It goes deeper than that IMO. Barton carries a lot of baggage and many of us were doubters from the start of course. The only way he was going to overcome that was to show total commitment to the club and give 100% every game. Sadly the opposite has been true and he has often competed half-heartedly and shown an atrocious lack of application and concentration. He clearly has not stopped being a capable footballer overnight and if it was anyone else a spell in the reserves and another chance later on would be the order of the day (you only have to look at the revelation that is HH to see how things can change). But it is not anyone else - it is the infamous JB and he has had the one chance his reputation merits and has totally blown it. We need to get shot of him as soon as the opportunity arises.

I loved Peter "The Damage" Ramage's tweet; "Sweet Jesus, just seen #QPR score! Wow, come on u r's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a result! U know gods a ranger when dezzas on score sheet!!!"

I always liked Ramage, I met him once and he seemed a good bloke. <ok>

The players looked like a weight was lifted off their shoulders when he went off, the crowd was united for the 1st time all game and everyone got together as one. Its clear Barton is the one splitting the players and also the crowd. One man can destroy the team spirit.

To me the players character is more important than his skill hence why I like the HHs, Ramages, Mackies, Cisses etc of the side and do not like the lazy Zamora, or the abysmal, loudmouth Barton.

And let in Liverpools second goal in the great new Bartonless world, before turning the game on it's head.... Not sure about all that, we looked dead and buried until Derry's header came out of nowhere!

We didnt, the players looked a lot better before that, they were chasing down everything, the crowd got right behind them. The difference was very noticeable if you were there. Even Zamora started to close down Reina resulting in rushed kicks and possession for us.

We lost 1-0 with Barton and won 3-1 without him. Those are the facts.

Generally it is wrong to boo your own players but on this occasion it was the right thing to do.

It was a build up of months of frustration amongst the fans who can see that he shouldn’t be playing 90 mins, taking every set piece and added to this the perception that he is disrupting the team in particular Adel. This frustration boiled over and my reasoning for booing was pure passion And I assume this was the reason behind the rest of the fans who booed.

I think the Lemming mentality of those who say that you shouldn’t boo your own player is weak minded. To me it is more disappointing that there were plonkers near me standing up clapping him?!?! Football grounds have the best atmosphere of any sport in this country because they are fuelled by pure passion. To clap him after what he has done for the club or conceal feelings about something you feel strongly about is not right.

Barton has got the message now loud and clear. He needs to pull his finger out and do something on the pitch or he can do one.

Agree but this is the exception ... He is responsible for so much of the unrest at the club IMO. I said this from day one when others thought this is a great signing for QPR ... It wasn't. I wanted this to happen a long time back. I agree we move on now and support him he had to learn. Even if he has us in his heart he did very little to convince the fans of our club ... He may understand that now and no man is incapable of learning .. He has just learnt and I feel he has an honest enough character to take that on board and deliver using real skills not just words ... they are cheap. MOst of what he has spoken about or done has been for his own image or ego ... that is a direct sin against goodness and therefore and there is a high price to be paid here.
I hope I am considered on here as a consistent Barton questioner and this had to happen in order for us to move forward and with him onside after being publicly hurt and disgraced will only benefit us ... after all he is employed as a footballer not a creative visionary. With my current outlook I would also liked to have see a little bit of old fashioned physical torture maybe he was made to run around the pitch naked for 15 laps while the crowd chucked vegetables at him. After which he would be held head down and hand cuffed in both penalty areas by a large size ten stewards' boot before the club's badge would be branded onto each of his naked buttocks.... He would then be released to hop around the pitch at our amusement like a spring lamb on acid

The problem is that most players who get that kind of stick from their own support do not pull their fingers out, they get worse, they get scared to do or try anything. Most players perform better with encouragement, and I don't see Barton as being any different, he seemed to lose all self confidence to me last night. I think we need Barton in good shape for the rest of this season because other than him we have only Diakite and Derry who can play holding midfield - two key positions with our fragile back 4, and only 3 players in the squad that can fill them.

Next season I hope we have Ale back, and that Barton will be gone.

"a spring lamb on acid" brilliant, an arresting image that sent the coffee spraying over an expensive array of electronic equipment.

Save that for the opposition and match officials who don't give goals when we score them!

I really dont see how he can get any worse, he literally looked like someone was picked out of the crowd to play, the fans dont want him and know we will go down if he plays and also wastes every set piece.
The booing abuse was very widespread, it wasnt just the odd drunk and it was the only way we could project our feelings to both Hughes and Barton.

"Form is temporary, class is permanent" from Joey himself, Joey you have showed your (complete lack of) class all season. You have not had a good game all season.

People who just sit back and take the performance are the idiots, not the ones with the passion who want the club to stay up. Ironically if we stay up, I think we will keep him but we wont if we go down so Im screwed either way!

The booing of your own players is stupid, whoever it is. He had a terrible game last night granted, but to try and make out he plays like that every week is ludicrous. He'll start against Sunderland so lets all get behind him and the rest of the team and hope to keep this momentum going.

A win Saturday and the great escape will start to look possible.
