    I would be very shocked if Whitbread leaves. He has really supprised me with how well he has made the step up. I think in the summer we will probably let Lappin, Wilbraham, C. Martin go. Maybe some of the youngsters on the books will go on a season long loan or be released. Not sure about Smith and Tom adi(how ever you spell it)mi! I think Lambert may Loan them out again. I do also wonder if this may be Drurys last year as a city player, although i think this could be a shame if he did go as he has played so well! All i do know is i think it will be a very interesting summer signing wise!! we will be needing to improve on this year and avoid the dreaded second season syndrome!

    No chance Zak won't get a new contract. Been our best CB this year.

    poor journalism this is - surely most clubs have a bit of a clear out in the summer!

    i guess with Zak, his injury record COULD be a consideration in whether he is offered a new deal or not. I hope he stays

    We should be used to surprises. Malky and Iwan with Worthington and Huckerby with Roeder. But the Zak one does seem puzzling, considering Barnett is out of favour but not mentioned

    They only say Whitbread will leave because he is out of contract at the end of the season, there is no evidence given for any of them leaving. While I'm sure a few will leave Lambert knows to not unbalance a squad by shipping out big personalities in the changing room all at once, its important to keep a balanced and happy squad. After all last time we were in the Prem many point to part of our failings been due to the loss of some big personalities behind the scenes such as Roberts and Malky.

    God, dave, when I saw the title of this thread I thought you were going to offer us all those bottles of blended you've been given and would never touch <laugh>. This Sun copy writer must have been on something similar!

    Zak should stay on a short term deal while we bed in Ayala and Bennett who hopefully we be a solid pairing for a few seasons, while he keeps his fitness we have no one better I think so long live Zak

    If we were getting rid of Whitbred/Ward we would be playing Barnett/Rusty instead of them! What a load of bullshit, let's get rid of our best defenders. As for Chris Martin/Aaron Wilbraham might be more truth, but I think they could both still offer us something.

    I personally think we should sign him on as long a deal as we can - if he can keep himself fit then he is definitely a premiership quality CB and a massive asset for us and our future in the top flight <ok>

    I must say this is also my view! Since he returned from his last injury he has been immense! I was shocked by the story on BBC until I saw the original source!

    <cheers>

    I see our future CB partnership as bennett and ayala, but we must keep hold of whitbread and im sure we will!

    I would also add that we must keep hold of david fox which im sure we will, but we must sign a player of the same ilk! as good or even better than him.

    As for the rest, im expecting it will be them which will move on. I would imagine wilbs and martin to leave in the summer, as we need to improve our attacking department so why get rid of the best and most useful on the pitch!? We need squad and wage space so they would be the first to go IMO.

    I believe declan rudds contract is up at the end of the season aswell...
