DRS was terrible last year, they didn't even have to be remotely close to make the pass, one of many examples:
If DRS is that easy then they should have another DRS zone and detection point on the back straight so at least if you get driven passed you have a chance to reclaim your place.
Horner has said Red Bull with have edge over rivals at Malaysia because of the high speed corners. Urrrrrrrrrrm.................
Looks like a lively press conference according to Twitter. The Italian press are not what you'd call tranquil.
I feel rain or shine only Seb and Jenson can make the tyres last here and still be quick. If Lewis gets in the top 3 this race I would say that was a very good performance by him as I feel this is one of his weaker tracks to drive.
Will be interesting to see if McLaren run away with it when correctly fueled. Now Red Bull seem to have lost their qualifying trick I wonder if they'll set their car up more for racing in traffic, not that it seemed to stop Vettel in Aus, just a big change from last year.
Did you know? The Malaysian Grand Prix holds the unique distinction of being the only Grand Prix circuit at which the Safety Car has not been officially deployed in the past ten years?
I picked Vettel. The 1st race featured the RB8 Beta. Newey would move quickly to rectify errors in the car, so a Vettel win would be a good bet.
they were in fuel saving mode for alot of the race,so lewis couldnt really push hard and attack, also button was able to get his tyres up to temp quicker which is why button was able to get a 3 second lead so quickly. also lewis lost 4 seconds because he was pitted too late, and being in traffic hurt him too. but lewis race pace was simliar to buttons at certain times. also lewis has said he had a clutch problem at the start of the race which is why he was so slow off the line.and he had a different front wing setup to jenson for the race. at the end of the day button did a better job,but once again things had to go wrong for lewis in the race. but slow starts like that from lewis are rare, and lewis is normally very good at getting his tyres up to temp quickly. and lewis losing a place because of the safety car wont happen very often. lets see what happens on sunday.if lewis wins in malaysia he'll atleast be level on points with button.
"if lewis wins in malaysia he'll atleast be level on points with button." Not if Button comes 2nd? It depends which Lewis turns up. Lewis that is hard on himself, takes everything too seriously and thinks the world is against him will be rash, eat his tires, get annoyed and finish below where he should. Lewis that is happy go lucky, knows that he is in a good car, that he can beat Jenson and Vettel, and can see that he needs to be consistant over many races will do ok. You can't win a title over one or two races, but you can make it a damn site harder for yourself if you crash into people and get dnf's like last year. As long as we don't just have one winner at every race, the top 3 are changing (hopefully lotus and webber can make an impact) then we will have a good year, and Lewis will know there is less pressure to win every race, podiums will suffice on the off days.
I just hope the happy and fast Lewis turns up all season to make it a crackin chapionship all round. The press will get off his back and can do what he does best, drive fast! For us fans that will leave a 3 to 5 way battle for the championship - happy days!
"Maybe if Hamilton was a better driver he wouldn't have been so slow." You could say if Lewis set his car up better then he would have been quicker. But he was not "slow", and even if you went on the premise that he was, nobody that liked the sport and had any kind of knowledge on it that didn't blindly hate lewis, would say he wasn't a good driver.
