This is a great signing ... for whoever steals him off of us for £50k in 2014. Making Jeremy Clarkson Prime Minister and convincing him that the Premier League is a union is sadly the best hope we have of repealing EPPP.
Does anyone know when they actually decide the categories for the EPPP? With our success in promoting 50 Academy players to first team football, surely this should over-ride the fact we don't spend as much as the requirements? You'd think success on a decent budget should be rewarded....

I would hope not. It might just be that SD has seen that Bond is only on the bench now as D+R have their first choice keeper back and he thinks it will be of more benefit for him to be involved with our 1st team. In a similar way to Britt. I would hope thats the case anyway, i like Haywire.
I would rather see him go back out to a team where he gets time to play, but also where are you likely to get to talk to a premiership keeper??

Bond is only 18 isn't he??? That's very young for a goalie. He would need at least another couple of years out on loan before he's ready to be a first teamer for us Id say. On the subject of goalie's though, If Dyche really doesn't rate Loach and we end up selling him in the summer, then Id love to see us sign the Bournmouth keeper Jalal. 28 years old and is highly rated in League 1. And finally, does anyone know how Gilmartin has been doing at Crawley??

We have three ways of getting around the £2.5m criterion. One is to sue, which wouldn't be cheap and might not be successful. Second would be to double our number of full time academy staff (which would increase our spending by £200k-300k), and convince the powers that be that we are so good at the other factors that we deserve to be category one. Third is to spend £2.5m a year. But even if we become category one, this player could be poached off of us in two years for £80k or three years for £120k, even if he is clearly the next Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
I guess our only hope is the youngsters decide it is best to stay with us to get first team opportunities, rather than getiing lured by the bright, shiny money! We've seen a few already do this, so hopefully others look and learn!
If Sean Murray continues to do well for us and has a really good 2012/13 season then how much money would we get for him in the summer of 2013 if Prem teams come in for him???
