That would make you as guilty of celebrating early as them. Not to mention twice as sad for trawling through the minutes of our board :p

Yeah, but you have to admit, HIAG has come out with some classics.

He quoted me saying 'We've got our eye on your 3rd spot. This could be the start of Spurs' collapse'

and then swiftly took it out <laugh>

I'm sure he has, your own fans were as bad if not worse at times.

    This.

The term 'Sing when you're winning' applies an awful lot on this site.

  6. I think its prudent to see what happens - but lets be clear, if we top Spurs this season, they may as well give up all hope of ever finishing above us.

You'll find me singing come rain or shine mate.

And right now taking your 3rd spot after you were 13 pts ahead of us - and pulling 6pts away from Chelsea makes it a very sunny day <ok>

Do you remember when HIAG had your 'The North London Power Shift has happened' quoted in his sig ?

Part of this is due to your own fans as well Arsenal people.

Back during your bad run(s) this season, you lot were all turning on each other.

I imagine some of the Spurs fans jumped on that bandwagon - the situation was being set up by your own fans prior to anyone else joining in!

  10. It turned out to be less of a power shift and more of a short term power cut. 15 years of control from us, 6 months for them. If they don't finish above us after our worst start for 53 years, they better get used to another 15 years <laugh>

  11. Mate - we've been at each others throats for 4 years <laugh>

No, the gloating by the Spurs fans was simply down to the fact you had gone past us - but you are blowing it big style and some of the gloating could really bite come May.

Not entirely correct. Some were turning on Wenger and the players. Others pointed out where they had got it wrong <ok>

Not that simple though. Let's face it. When the side are playing badly they should be critised. When they play well they should be commended. We shouldnt be fickle but we also shouldnt be too stubborn.

When the facts change then we should change our views (Keynes said this didnt he?). And so our views of the future should be impacted by how we have played. If we were bottom of the league right now it would be insanity to say we were a top side. And if we had won 29 out of 29 it would be madness to say we are terrible. It is fine to change your mind based on changing facts. In fact its a sign of an open and acrobatic mind. Not saying you dont have either...just saying things arent always as black and white as you are saying here.

  15. No, they were better than us for sure - but I did warn that it could be short term.

More happy than you can imagine that it looks like being short lived <ok>

  16. Spot on - all you can do is call it like it really is.

No matter what happens now, its been a poor season for us brought about by some serious errors in the transfer market and tactical play, allied to a lack of concentration and belief within the team for most of the season. I am not fooled by grabbing 3rd or 4th and not winning anything - it is not good enough.

Some fans will see 3rd and no trophies as a big success - or even 4th. It isn't, it's a faliure.

Still, given how poor we were for the first half of the season, finishing above Spurs would salvage some glory and pride.

In the context of this season, it will be a success. I will be celebrating if we get 3rd or 4th.

To be honest it is a success given our relative wage and transfer budget if we get 3rd. Wenger fcked up preseason. Without that transfer debacle which cost us a good pre season we would be int he title race.

  19. Don't get me wrong - I will too - because of where we were. However, at the start of the season- no trophies and 3rd would not be success.

  20. You know that's probably true - even average for in the fist 5-6 games would see us still in the title race now.
