Ivor you've got us running before we can walk (), but I do think we have hit a rich vein of form, and that's because Siggy has taken pressure of our frontman Graham. My view has always been these last few seasons, that we are a complete and effective unit, except in the final third, and I maintained that view through most of last season, until Borini came on loan, and then we were, what I consider complete team in all aspects, and had we had Borini from the start of last season, we would have gone up as champions not QPR. Borini was a loss, and we looked for the best next thing which was Graham, who struggled early season to give us the cutting edge, though it didn't help with Sinclair having a quite season too, but it was still obvious to me we were back where we were last season, with not enough cutting edge up front, until Siggy stepped in, and our performances have now gone full throttle, let's hope Graham now relaxes and hits the back of the net more, though I'm not sure about Sinclair!..................... please log in to view this image
Phil, it's unlikely but a nice dream nonetheless. So far my dreams have come true and I'm hoping, like everyone else, that they will continue. As for Danny and Sincs, I'm sure that they will prosper, as will the entire team, from the confidence that our recent rich vein of form has provided. Siggy has taken a lot of the weight from their shoulders and it's nice to see Sincs setting up chances even if he isn't nailing his usual quota - a quota that was achieved at a lower level making comparisons unfair.
True. Sinclair keeps trying I'll give him that, and you know what they say about the lottery and buying a ticket..
Hey Guys liverpool lost at qpr tonight, so Now is our chance ....If we can beat everton 7-0 then we can overtake them....what you reckon are we in with a chance...
If we can beat Everton & Newcastle start to show a bit of where & tear & lose to us , 7th is thinkable . Especially with our next 4 games after that being against bottom 5 teams ... which in itself could be a blessing or a curse Lol !
haha! couldn't ask for better set of results. Liverpool throwing points away, everton thrown points away. Sunderland throwing points away. Smash everton hopefully and 7th place could be a real possibility. I honestly feel wigan may hold out for a draw against liverpool so could possibly make up some ground on them!
Well, guys, whatever. As of now we are officially points clear in 8th place with everyone in our vicinity having played 29 games. What odds would we have got on that pre season? Now to chase Liverpool and Toon down for 6th place. I wonder, I just wonder if we can do it? Never mind, manager of the year, if that happened Brendan would get manager of the decade!!!
Last night I put my prediction in the pot, down the pub, 3-1 to Swansea, nearly all the predictions were positive ones, so let's see if we can close the gap on Liverpool!................ please log in to view this image
Was just looking at the table ... not a bad dozen teams below us . But when you figure into it that we've taken points off all the teams above us except Manchester United ( & we still have a pop at them ) , WOW !! . And it's just not the taking of the points , it's the manner in which the team does it .... no cheap points involved
Its nice for once in a long time to not be fighting for a play off place near seasons end with all the stress related to it. And no relegation worries now were safely set in the prem with possibly top 6/7 in range. ! 9 more games left of a glorious season in the top flight i wish man u was the next game to play !
Dreamland already. Did not expect Liverpool to throw that lead away. QPR out of relegation zone now though.
We tied at Liverpool during our "can't believe we're here" phase in the first half of the season; if we played them today it would be a different story. If we go on a run we could climb this table very quickly; and I see no reason why we couldn't do that. I was totally surprised that we out played Fulham the way we did - it was really night and day between the two teams. Jol is no dummy as a coach and he has a good group of players; they were just not able to execute on their plan or we just refused to let them. We've demonstrated that we can own games, boss games and now actually create and finish chances. Our main stroke of luck this season has been on the injury front. If we stay injury free to Sig, Joe, and Leon then there's no telling where we end up other than much higher than where we are now.
I can't vouch for the accuracy but my mate told me he read that we are now standing third in the table on results since January 1st behind the two Manchesters. If that's true (I know we 6th a few days ago) and we can maintain that form, we might have an outside shot of finishing 6th with a good chance of 7th. Not likely I know but the team must be aware of it and should provide huge motivation for them to give it a real go.
you wont get a better chance to take maximum points from the everton game, they rested players in the derby against liverpool as they are desperate to win the FA cup, they could well rest a few players with the upcoming replay against sunderland coming up
Our boys should give a good account of themselves on Saturday, even though Everton will play negative, I'm sure we'll find a way through and keep the momentum going, being very positive on this one, 3-1 to Swansea!............. please log in to view this image
