Yes if you're English living in England. That still makes you a minority though. And technically it's the BPL anyway. Now wave your little St George's flag and wish the Queen Happy Anniversary.
I think we would all agree that the USA has the potential to be a massive force in world football. Their Sports and Athletic programmes are FAR FAR better than anything we have in Europe. As long as they keep dreaming about playing Rounders, Netball and British Bulldog (Baseball, Basketball and American Football) we are safe for the time being. That said... I coached in the USA for a while and I have seen some decent young talent out there.
Calling it the English Premier League is nonsense. Do we call Serie A the Italian Serie A or La Liga the Spanish La Liga.
Soccer was first coined by an England Captain, Charles Wreford-Brown, as an abbreviation of association. It's hard to imagine a more English word than one made up by a ****ing England captain.
I am not English and I don't live in England. I would never wave a St Georges flag. Makes you look a bit of a donut sir
To the morons arguing about what a league is called, there are many, many leagues around the world called the 'Premier League', that's why everywhere outside England the PL is prefaced by the added E, to differentiate it from the other leagues.
We decided to have pity on a few clubs along time ago, because their own nations league was so ****e, we may end up doing the same for some clubs north of the border too, for exactly the same reason, but just because we've let them in, it doesn't mean that those who call it the EPL should change that to the E&WPL, or even the E,W&SPL, we have an England and Wales cricket board, but they still play under the name England and are known by the acronym ECB .
It's certainly a long way behind the Premier League and La Liga etc in terms of quality, but how many countries do you thinnk have better leagues that the MLS? I would consider these countries to definitely have better leagues than the MLS, Engalnd, France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy and Portugal. After that your looking at countries like Greece, Scotland and the like and I'd say the MLS is as reputable as those if not more so.
Perhaps it should be named "The English Premier League And Swansea", cos that's what it is. Really gets to a few pricks too doesn't it. The only people who seem to have had a problem with it are generally fans of small (minded) clubs like Blackburn and Bolton and of course the odd moron from other clubs. By and large the bigger the club the less problem their fans have with it.
With the takeover of Man City, The relegation battle hottening up as always and the race for 3rd and 4th this post is ridiculous. "Poor quality of play (Man Cs were dumped out of ECL by a mid-table southern italian side and Manchester Us by a herb)". Assuming the italian side is Napoli they are clearly not mid-table considering there fifth and have hold of Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik, three of europe's most highly rated forwards. Basel raised there game and United weren't up for it. Your a WUM. And lets be honest Ligue 1, Mexican, Brazillian and Argentian league are not far superior to the premier league!
English team in the Champs league final, no Spanish team. Don't imagine anyone is about to claim they are in decline!
Firstly, what the **** is El Ligo??? Secondly it is obvious you are not American, by your use of the phrase "but dont want to offend no-one" I suspect you are in fact a thick jock
I think an extra Europa spot should be open for the most hygeinic club in Europe, similar to the Fair Play league. Clean Hands league anyone?
