God had **** all to do with it. Dr. nurses, medical staff <<<< these people did it all. Its a disgrace that all their hard work and effort trying to save Muambas life is attributed to god. He doesnt exist, about time some people woke the **** up and let reality into their lives.
I do find it funny when you hear particularly some of the US teams attribute their success to God. You have to have faith to believe in a God in the first place, but imagining that he isn't a football fan, and watches those US sports instead, is too much of a stretch.
I find it funny that those people who profess to have a faith are often far more open minded than those who don't.
Well done in a single post you have shown yourself to be as extreme as a religious fundamentalist. I don't see much difference between this and the hate spewed from fundamentalists. It's fine if we don't believe in God and religion but show the decency to respect those that do. Most people are good and some are bad but faith in religion or not should not be the determining factor. Arrogant pricks like you make life **** for both sides of the fence.
This went way beyond stating your beliefs and into "preaching" territory. You start by claiming you aren't that zealous in your beliefs then continue writing the whole post with the same level of "absoluteness" as the quotes above Try being more humble in your unprovable beliefs.
@ Ammaar It is great you have your beliefs but I am with Gent on this First of Muamba is a Christian that makes it a different God to yours - Infact it states that therefor he is lower than you a Kafir. While you writing is very peaceful it is also extremely preachy.
God gave those people the intellect and wisdom to do what they do which helped save Muamba's life, God gave us and them the brain we use .
First of all, we need to say 'god'... which one? Should I pray to Hephaistos or Ra, maybe, as either of the two have equally the same claim to reality as the Judeo-Christian 'God'? It's 2012 and we still discuss religion like it's valid. I pity those without the inner strength to live their own life and solve their own problems. Religion is a fear of death, the unexplainable and everything in-between.
These days the main perception of God is the Abrahamic God, the One all powerful God who created us for a purpose, so one would pray to such a God, in fact most people's conception of God is one Creator who made them, knows them etc, and so they would naturally pray to that being they believe to be. . As for a fear of death, how is that some of the most fearless people in the face of death have been/are believers in God? God isn't the result of not knowing, it is the result OF KNOWING and a result of the most logical conclusion, unless you expect us to believe us alongside this great universe and planet all happened as a result of chance for no reason by a self process of it's own, guided by factors and chemical equations that were just right that allowed for life to begin on earth, and which is why we are here chatting on a computer! Get real! THAT TAKES A LOT OF FAITH TO BELIEVE IN.
Really!!! The most logical conclusion is that there is an all powerful being watching over us and we were created in his image! Even though we all come in different same sizes shapes and colours. An all powerful being who doesn't show himself to us EVER. That there is no archaeological evidence to prove that god existed. We can prove the world is 4 billion years old but can't prove god exists. We can prove 10 planets in our solar system with an insurmountable number of planets in the Universe but he picked ours to populate and no others in the solar system. We can see that even though god created all life No creature but man worships him. REALLLY?? Every Society in existence has come up with a different type of God but there is one GOD yet it is always the kings or priests, or shamans who understand god and know his will and can teach it to us. Why doesn't God come to every person and teach him why must individuals tell us the will of God and not God himself. Belief/Faith in God is just that BELIEF. Isn't it suprising how as understanding and education increase the myths of God seem to be disproved. IF he invented all life in one go then why is there life documented for MILLIONS OF YEARS. The Earth has been here for 4 billion years we can prove it God has only existed for about 8000 years when Man created society.
I'm not going to get heavily involved in this discussion, as they tend not to end well, but I think that the Pray4Muamba thing is basically a meme. The vast majority of people within the football community wanted to wish him well and hope that he'd survive and recover both quickly and fully, regardless of their theistic positions. Once it started, it would seem pretty petty and tasteless to object to it, wouldn't it?
Prayer is different in every religion and I'm not going to get into whether atheists can pray, that wasn't my point and neither is it something I said. Do you really think all the people that used #prayformuamba on Twitter, for example, actually took a decent amount of time to properly concentrate on Muamba's wellbeing and nothing else? I'd wager they didn't and only used the term because everyone else was. Even those that don't normally pray but did because everyone else had been talking about it and footballers had it on their shirts. That's insincerity. If you're still not sure, scroll across to the Man United/Bolton photo on here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17423843 You won't convince me that a note addressed to "Patrice", with the bungled attempt at a cliché "one game, one family" and 8 names all signed in the same handwriting is anything other than exaggerated concern for Muamba. I find it insulting that they've done this.
-Made in the image of God doesn't literally mean like for like. -No archeological evidence for God? God isn't a human or some animal, why would there be some supposed statues or images of him, or bones etc if he is none of those things? However there have been archeological discoveries of Biblical figures, and archeological discoveries that do prove some of the Biblical figures and their beliefs etc existed. -Every society has come up with a God, but the basic premise has been the same, a deity that created us, our environment etc, and for a reason, that premise is the common denominator, we don't believe this all happened on it's own by chance for no reason. -Earth= 4 billion years old, religion=8000, that's not an argument that disproves the existence of God.
Care to explain to me whether other forms of life- animals for example are judged on the Day of Resurrection? Why do babies not always make it to full term? - do they go before God? When very young children die, do they remain in God's care as young children? Do people remain at the age they were when they died or are all humans changed into a spirit, like a wisp or vapour? It seems odd that so many religions and cults all believe they have God on their side.
At the end of the day, there is no god. There is no inherent meaning to life. Even if you find your own meaning, it is, ultimately, pointless. Move on.
That's you're opinion, others as myself (and billions more) think otherwise, we think there is a God, who made us, and everything around us, for a purpose.
Do you believe God is omnipotent? if so can he create a huge rock that he himself can't move???? PRAISE BUDDHA
