Knowing Liverpool's luck this season, we'll hit the woodwork a few times before that'll happen! Quick question... Do you think you'll stay up? Like I said in my preview, you have quite a difficult run in. You'll probably spring a suprise in a couple of those fixtures (Hopefully not tonight though!) but do you think it'll be enough to stay up?
You do realise that, given our season so far, what you've just described is not outside the realms of possibility.
Shaun Derry hasn't scored a goal in 5 years or something so there is no chance this will happen, don't even know if he'll start! What with Blackburn winning last night and seeming to get their act togeher, it's starting to look a bit desperate now. The last four matches were crucial and it just didn't go our way. Reckon it will be close but to be honest expecting the worst. The nice thing is that without expectations you can just enjoy the football on offer without tensing up. A big argument I have with my mates is what is more enjoyable - getting into the Prem and then struggling or actually having seasons in the football league where you win loads of games and the team play good football/dominate games. The head says being in the Prem is the best but last season and the season where we got to the play-off final in League 1 and then one it the next year were awesome. What I'm trying to summarise is that we will prob go down but its not the end of exsitance as some people make out It'll be exciting at the bottom and the race for the title and for europe is gona be intense too, so all round great finish to the season. Plus a Liverpool-Everton, or Chelsea-Tottenham cup final would be awesome from a neutral point of view
Can understand where you are coming from. Looking at the table, I think Wigan & Wolves are gone. Wigan don't score enough and Wolves will let it too many. That leaves you, Bolton & Blackburn. Blackburn have suddenly hit some form and their prospects look a lot better. They have goals in them and that will keep them up now. That leaves yourselves and Bolton. You clearly have quality in your side (Cisse, Zamora & Taarabt) and that will give you a big boost. I think you'll stay up now. I predicted that you go down at the start of the season after Warnock wasn't allowed to buy anyone of note but I think you've got the goals in your side which will see you safe. You'll probably end up staying up on the last day away at City! Mark Hughes to get payback after his sacking... I'm just hoping you start a run of good form on Saturday and not tonight!
Reckon he's due one then and knowing our luck this season he'll probably get it against us. Even if he doesn't play. Seriously, we've been so ****e in the league we need the points as much as you. Looks like we're well stuffed for 4th now but we still need to get as many points and as high up the table as we can. Anyway, good luck to you guys-after tonight.
I was getting a bit worried with your "Do you think you'll stay up?". It wasn't until I read the later posts that I realised that you didn't mean that Carlos might have to go to bed!
We need to to stick as close as we can to the side that beat the blues and stoke, this is defo not the game where you rotate the squad/rest players.Strongest 11 required, Sterling at least on the bench also.If Kelly n Johnson arent available Carra must play RB, whether he wants to or not, Flanno gives me the jitters
I would rest Gerrard, bring in Kuyt and Hendo. Spearing and Carroll to start. I know it would be ideal to play the same team but not worth the risk to Gerrard playing him too often at this stage... I expect Kenny to ring the changes...
Serious question: why do you lot think Liverpool are outside the top four at the moment? I went to the fixture at Anfield this season and you pretty much dominated the game. Although you seem at times to soak up pressure, however, you seem to be lacking that 20 goal a season man eg Fowler or Owen from a few years back, also seems that your lacking that playmaker type midfielder (I know that Gerrard can do this but he is getting on a bit now and can't perform at his best every game) to unlock defences, or a sort of Modric Silva player to make that spark happen. Also my mate supports Liverpool and he reckons Johnson is far overated. Fair assessment? I think you lot will dominate posession tonight early on as we just clam up with nerves at home and only really come into it late first half/second half if we're still in touching sitance (barring the odd game here and there)
I was going to ask whether you lads are expecting Kenny to rest a few? We'd be ever so grateful if Gerrard and Suarez could be given a rest!!
So kick-off is getting nearer... Score predictions lads? I'm gonna go for 2-1 Liverpool. Carroll to give the Liverpool the lead but Zamora will draw Q.P.R level. However, Kuyt will get the winner for Liverpool! YNWA.
We've dominated most games and there's only been about 3-4 games that we've actually played bad in. Our problem has been converting our chances, our defence hasn't given much away but all through our team our players haven't contributed as many goals as they could of. Hitting the woodwork a record amount of time, missing 5+ Penalties, it's been a season that could of been a lot more for us. As for todays predictions, I don't see a match of real quality and the odd goal will nick it. 1-0 to us with a bit of Quality from Suarez. Here's hoping for a good match anyway.
Im a worried man if C Adam plays, suspect Kelly n Suarez may both be fit, heard both Wisdom and Sterling have been training with the fisrt team over last couple of weeks
Reina; Kelly, Carra, Skrtel, Enrique; Spearing, Adam, Gerrard; Kuyt, Downing, Suarez The team according to most people. Can't say I'm really happy at that. Why take Carroll away after he was starting to get some form? Why go three in midfielder and one upfront against a QPR team that has hardly got anyone playing in between the lines.
