He would give us a whole new dimension in our play, he's like JVoH from what I've seen where he's quite technical on the deck, but not as good as Hessle rerd with his feet, but he's bigger and stronger and better in the air.
His age is not an issue and his experience could prove vital. How many other 6ft 7" strikers STILL PLAYING are out there and available.? But agree he could make the difference this season.
I remember when Cardiff played us at the KC last season they had a front 6 of: Whittingham Ramsey McPhail Bellamy Chopra Bothroyd How attacking is that? The weird thing is, the next game Ramsey went back to Arsenal and they replaced him with another striker (Emmanuel-Thomas I think).
No GK sub named. Lansbury take over there if needed. Back to 7 subs in all 4 leagues from next season thankfully.
Nick said that common sense has been resored but many clubs are not happy about it. The fact is that you dont have to name 7 subs if you dont want to. It should never have been changed for this season. It could be that the rule has just been changed back and not been made public yet.
I just think it's nonsense having 5. People like Cairney and Cullen lose out on valuable game time because of it.
Thats what Nick said and the basis as to why its gone back to 7 from next season. The point is that it never had to change and clubs dont have to name 7 subs if they dont want to. It does indeed stop clubs putting a youngster or 2 on the bench.
I'd rather have the giant that used to play for them and is now at Porto via Twente. Both Notts County goals came from set pieces after fouls on Adebola (so that'd be no use to us then )
If he's contracted to Salzburg we can't sign him until the summer as emergency loans can only be done domestically (this rules out Scotland as well). And I've just realised, I can't remember if the loan deadline was Thursday or Friday, so I might be posting this after the deadline anyway.
Pretty much all of the Netherlands and Serbia/Croatia PS. How did I miss this thread?! I wasn't even aware the Black Pearl had departed
He's met expectations though, because as anyone who thought it was a bad signing was told last summer, he was a good signing because he wouldn't play much anyway.
