Does anyone else feel that the arrangements this season whereby the programme presenter Matt Dean does not attend the main match and attempts to present and co-ordinate from wherever Scunny are playing is a total disaster? For instance, would Radio Manchester have their sports editor and programme anchor at Bury and detached from having witnessed a Man Utd game which was generating 90% of calls? The current RH arrangements are unfair to the vast majority of listeners and are unbalanced. Listener numbers for South Bank must be extremely low as evidence by lack of calls and txts from there. Things need to change at RH and if they don't then City fans will need to get on to their bosses. ,, The mentioning of 3 adverse Cairney texts last night was also evidence of lack of sports editorship. When Burnsey was sports editorand programme presenter, he would allow one ridiculous txt say he disagreed and move on. I no longer enjoy RH coverage before and travelling from matches anything like as much as I USED to do, am I alone, can we influence change, does anyone at RH read not 606?
The biggest issue I've had with Blunderside is recently is that I've noticed they have put City games on AM, who uses AM these days, we are the biggest team in the region and should be on FM at the very least. Ludicrous.
I bumped into the whole Blunderside crew in the services en route to Cardiff, Matt Dean was off to watch Scunny saying he's a city fan but hardly seen a game this season and not a single one in 2012, then went on to comment about our players/tactics etc. etc. it's clear the "I didn't go to the game but..." bullshit manifests higher than the mentally ill people who phone in.
The match anchor can be anywhere and i dont see that as a problem. Matt Dean is the ScunnyMan manly and so what if last night they were @ Bury. Burnsie has in the past been the anchor from all over the place. Maybe there maybe a case for the anchor to be in the studio. One thing for sure though is that Matt Dean is no Burnsie.
Not true. RH have put the home team on AM and the away team on FM. Grimsby get the DAB and onLine service as the cement league can be broadcast online without problems. I feel that once Scunny are safe then ALL Citys games will go to FM. To be fair AM is better over here than over in Lincs area. Its not an issue for me as i am at game anyway.
That makes no sense whatsoever surely home team should be on fm as that's short distance and away team on an as that's long distance then travelling fans can tune in on their journey to and from????
Perhaps a world wide web thing, but you seem to have missed the 'w' off the start of the same word three times.
I think tv anchors usually see the whole or most of the main game in order to properly do their job, I totally disagree that a radio anchor can be anywhere. He has tobe at the main match.
Whats the point of all this ? and no i am not. You dont have to anchor the programme from a Hull City game, ffs.
The point should be obvious, City v Soton was the big match of thenight in the Humberside area and any decent station would anchor at the big match not an obscure one, its actions are perverse and need challenging if coverage is to improve
What a joke, I have to be honest and say I have no interest at all in any of the regions other football league teams so when they start blathering on about Scunny and Grimsby I tune out, there is no way they should have priority on the radio to us.
Nonsense. but so what, get in touch with Matt Dean if it means that much to you. He is the New sports editor.
It won't be down to him though most likely, it will be a decision from elsewhere in the country to cut costs. The BBC is a shambles these days, the only good thing that has come out from them unravelling for me is this forum instead of the original 606, which should never have been axed.
I think Tickler is right to be honest. Our game was a bigger match but it was a home game and there were 6,000 empty seats if anyone wanted them. Scunny were playing at Bury and many Scunny fans won't have been able to get there. RH tend to stick the away team on FM, if both teams were away we would be the FM team but they're simply trying to give the best service to the greatest number of people who need it.
It's a waste of time. I've tried Burnsy and even the head of BBC East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and neither are interested in constructive criticism, they don't even accept that City fans hate Gwilym Lloyd(which is odd, as they do sometimes look at the boards, they've had posts of mine pulled from CI in the past).
