    Reina/Given

Wenger, we need a keeper. I'm sure Reina would be ok for a move, as long as we can convince him we are genuine title challengers next year, by signing a few good players first.

Given would love the chance, but would City let him go?

    Hazard

Has said previous he wants to go to Arsenal, why not grab him while we can? A future midfield of Nasri, Ramsey, Wilshere and Hazard would be enough (after a couple of years) if fabregas leaves. Hazard is on the level of Ram and Wilsh anyway.

    Cahill/Samba/Hangelhand

One of these would be excellent. I think Samba would be the best because he actually wants to leave.

    Striker

This is a tough one to pick. Wenger will probably sign a young guy like Muniain or Lukaku, young strikers who could be amazing, but what we really need is a Van Persie who is fit all season.

I don't really know anyone who would be good for us that would actually want to leave an existing club. Ageuro possibly, if Wenger could be bothered to spent that much.

Reina/given would be atleast 20 odd mill, and we have Fabianski and Sznenkzy who are doing well

again the same price for Hazard, if not more, and we already have Nasri, Arshavin, Walcott etc etc fighting it out for them spots.

Cahill is way to expensive (15+ mil) especially with Djourou, tommy V, Koschielny, then backup with squallaci etc
hangeland would prob be too much, and is to slow for our high line, and hughes prob wont sell to us, Samba i'd like, but doubt it with 3 top defenders already.

And RVP staying fitter than normal, Chamakh adjusting to the english game and doing well, and Bendtner would mean someone up front is highly unlikely.

Also have we not been linked with Benezma, think that he would work well with RVP.

Does that mean you're happy with your squad then? Most Arsenal fans I speak to want any number of signings.

I was just going by what Wenger would do, or what i think he would...

as i said i'd like to see Samba coming in, but otherwise none of them players mentioned will really improve the squad much, apart from abit better depth

maybe someone in midfield who can perform whilst fabregas is out

Other than that it's mainly tactics and a mental thing/ different way to play that would see us improve rather than new players

Don't need a new goal keeper, Szczesny looks like an excellent keeper and Fabianski is a good backup.

Don't need a new centre half, Vermaelen and Djouruou are both top defenders whilst Koscielny shows a lot of potential. For a 4th choice defender Squillaci is decent.

I think we need a DM who can play as cover for Song or alongside him to give us a more physical presence. Someone like Tiote would be great, cheap, never say die attitude and is disciplined.

The other player I would like would be a top class striker who can play alongside RvP. He is out for at least half the season every year so we need someone to fill the massive gap that he leaves behind without making us weaker, sorry to Chamakh and Bendtner but you just aren't doing it.

Oh yeah and I don't want Samba, as he can't play a high line and is positionally poor. Besides why would he leave to become a 4th choice CB.

I don't think you'll be able to solve that problem without new players. You need someone who will get the other players afraid not to put in 100%. At the moment they seem to play like they just don't care at time, or they expect to win without having to put the effort in. Imo, it's not a coincidence that you haven't won anything since Vieira left - you need a leader like him who will get the team fighting for results, not just passing for them. It's hard to imagine that 2-2 draw at West Brom happening with him in the team.

You also need Wenger to accept that whilst passing football is great to watch, you need to be able to mix it up to avoid becoming too predictable and making it too easy for opponents to play against you.

Everyone's said we need a striker, but who?

Aguero would cost at least £50m, so he's ruled out.

I think we can change that without new players, look at wilshere, he's been trained the same wenger way for about 10 years yet 99% of the time he has the fight and desire needed.
and for example before they came to arsenal the likes of Nasri, arshavin, etc etc were taking players on, shooting from distance etc, everything arsenal need to do so if they've learnt to not do that kind of thing much, they can learn the fight, to constantly press the ball, to shoot, take a few risks etc etc

Or then again we could buy another player or 2, and have them purely for the rough hard working fight, allowing the other players to flourish in their preferred roles
Or a mix of the two
Either way i think getting more players, would just result in the same problems time and time again without any sort of change to the tactics and way we play our game.

There is no way Given would cost even close to £20 million. Given (excuse the pun) his age, you'd be looking at a fee somewhere in the region of £5-8 million imo.

    GK is fine at Arsenal.

Possibly a CB (not vital though) and a good strike partner for RVP.

will never happen but would love to see Benzema!!

Bougherra? In the few SPL games I've watched he's looked like a good defender but so did Cuellar and Boumsong, so it's hard to know how well he'd adapt to the PL, given the gulf in class. It's also important to bare in mind that before his move to Rangers Bougherra was playing in the Championship and League One in England.

I think he means Kyle Bartley, a 19 year old Centre back on loan to Rangers from Arsenal.

<doh> That would make more sense. I thought Bougherra had possibly been linked with Arsenal.
