morning elland fatigue is when you have a relatively small squad playing 50 games so far this season, going on cup runs and playing extra time in wembley cup finals etc... so spare me that excuse lads i'm pleased for my uncle who is a forest fan, they needed 3 points badly and no doubt those 7 goals they scored will boost confidence in a relegation threatened side all i hope is that we dont show the same naiivity when we play another relegation threatened team, coventry, at the CCS this evening
YWBK has it spot on mostly. These players have put in a really different and tough shift since Colin came in, but it's been the same ones. They were all 3 yards short of Forest last night, who had had 10 days off. Having just two midfielders - Clayton and Brown - to control the marauding Forest midfield was a tactical error on Colin's part, but brown was the one who put in the shift up abnd down the pitch all evening long. To me it looked like lactic acid had really gotten into most of their legs. I disagreed with Colin in taking off White. Robinson had looked shattered and could have bee nreplaced with White, while bringing Webber on. That would have given us some pace at right back too. In his post-mnatch interview, Colin stated he was concerned with Becchio before the game and at half time and wanted to take him off at HT because he looked so tired and couldn't run,. He then asked him to stay on for 10 more minutes, but left him on until 10 minutes to go. What kind of management is that? he should not have even started! We have Webber and Paynter and Forsell! Essentially we were annihalated by a team of fast, fit players who were raring to go, not suffering from having put in a real shift on Saturday. In addition, they played football, not hoofball, and came with a tactical awareness of how to play and where each other were and an ability to pass the ball and control it then pass it again. O'Dea, McCormack and Brown can hold their heads up. The rest were just unable to compete. That I put squarely down to Bates in not backing his manager by allowing them to bring in or keep quality players, down to Grayson in qrecking morale within the dressing room, and down to Warnock in not setting the rght team up in the right way.
Morning all Dont throw any money at it this term Warnock (fat chance of that happening anyway!) its a write off. Looking forward to seeing a very new look team next term & if we can hang onto our key players over the summer & with a few good additions we will be up there in the mix. Redfearns points dropped halted any chance we had of making the play offs & lets not over look the fact that we havent won 3 on the bounce all season. Thats not the consistency you need to get yourself out of this league & we must start winning our week day matches. It seems we havent got the quality in the squad to handle more than a 1 game a week.
Bucks - Not convinced it is as simple as blaming Redders for our position. On a simplistic basis, Redders got more points, scored more goals and let in less in his 4 games than Colin got in his 6 so far Completely agree we should spend no more money this year (in reality we should not have brought in Webber or Robinson), we should blood some of the kids who would be chomping at the bit, and some serious tal;ks shoud egt underway to get rid of the people Colin does not want and to keeep those he does.
Not meaning to blame Redders but the points dropped under him I think Grayson would have bagged. Poor decision by the board IMO. Then Bates calls all the game winnable heaping more pressure on a manager who has a terrible first team record. Another bad move. Think he should have got Warnock in quicker but I bet the old git had half a mind to keep Redders in (I reckon thats why he sacked Grayson when he did, to give Redders an easier on paper run) until at least the end of the season to save some money. All assumptions of course, but I wouldnt put anything past that snake of a 'man'
Morning Sussex. Have your fun. Still only 5pts behind Brum. Think play offs have gone for this season. Last night was embarassing, but a freak result. Will be interesting to see if there are any changes on Saturday & whether or not we take our frustrations on on the 'Wall. Crowd banter should be fun. I fear a bit of rib tickling.
Same to you Boggers, got to have a laugh now and again esp if you're a Leeds or Cardiff supporter can we have McCormack back please
No chance Sussex. He'll only go & score a hat trick against you to show you what you're missing... & we'd hate you to miss that now wouldn't we????
We need to make sure that we whip Millwall. I heat MillwallSteve has quite a collection of whips, we can use those
Just want to point out Forest played last Tuesday at Derby, lost 1-0 and had Tudgay sent off late on. They will have come into the game last night with no confidence and yet they still manage to hammer us. At least Ken won't be able to hang onto the "new" Leeds United saying over the summer, and will have to show we mean business by signing quality players. That usually starts off by selling a top player, goodbye Snoddy and thanks for your hardwork since you joined.
Shaun Harvey is out of the office until 26th March. This is ****ing pathetic, how do you run a football club when you're never ****ing there?
we want 10"... we want 10" ....we want 10" , ready for saturday fella's , were in rehersals at the moment
you would think you had won a home game this year.seven without a win so far, think you will make 10.eight by sat night.
