After the shock of the events of the FA Cup match, we now have a match on Wednesday against Stoke and 6061 hasn't posted yet. So here is a bit of teams news: There are only two items of note - Emmanuel Adebayor remains doubtful with a hamstring injury - Harry said 'he's struggling' - and Aaron Lennon is still sidelined with his hamstring problem. Harry did add that Aaron is improving. Other than Aaron/Ade, Harry said the rest of the squad is 'pretty much okay'. And from the OS The Club can confirm that Wednesday evening's Premier League fixture against Stoke City at White Hart Lane will go ahead as scheduled, kicking off at 7.45pm. Manager Harry Redknapp said: "What happened on Saturday to Fabrice Muamba was a shock to everyone. "It is possible that the effects of this could hit some quicker than others and despite these difficult circumstances we all have to pull together and carry on with our season. "We will be providing players with whatever support they need in order to help them move on from what has happened, while obviously always keeping Fabrice at the forefront of our minds and willing him to make a recovery. "Fortunately, we already had a cardiologist visiting the training ground today for routine screening, so we are able to offer any player who wishes to be tested for the purpose of reassurance an additional opportunity to be screened." The thoughts of everyone at the Club continue to be with Fabrice Muamba, his family and Bolton Wanderers at this difficult time.
Cheers for this, PL. I'm so used to 6061 posting them now that I didn't even notice we didn't have one! If Adebayor and Lennon don't make it back and everyone else is available, then I'd like to see us go with this: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Kranjcar, Parker, Modric, Bale; van der Vaart; Saha. See if that front pairing can work and if it doesn't, then we can switch it up by bringing on Defoe. He seems like he was one of the players who was affected most by the unfortunate events at WHL on Saturday, too. Might not feel his best.
Players that have played for both teams: Crouch Palacios Etherington Gudjonson Lets see how many we can get before 6061 turns up
Time to set the record straight after we were robbed earlier in the season. Anyone going and how do you feel about it?
Let's hope the players' mentality is good following the events that happened on Saturday. Stoke are probably the worst team we could face if our players are feeling, understandly, fragile/shaken etc.
I'm hoping that Stoke knackered themselves out at Anfield on Sunday, so it'll even itself out, at least.
PNP,as Spurs we should be beating Stoke whether they're knackered or not. I'm confident of a win here.
Mike Jones, we had him for Wolves. He seemed a bit cautious with the cards then but he did send off two players when we played Liverpool.
Does THFC6061 post anything other than these incredible match threads? Perryman... How could you? 6061 has probably just got up with his cuppa, turned on his computer, only to see an imposter filling his shoes! you should be ashamed of yourself! Na, in all seriousness, great post mate. I think there's going to be a hangover from Saturday to be honest, but with the positive news that Fabrice is getting better, hopefully the players can go out and play this game for him, giving everything. YV - hopefully mike jones will be in the mind set tonight that he was in when we played Liverpool. The refereeing in the previous stoke game this season was disgusting and it cost us. - on that note... you mention he was in charge against wolves?... so therefore disallowed a perfectly good goal if I remember?! oh dear.
That was the lino's fault, wasn't it? He messed up the corner they scored from but it was still down to us to defend it, which we didn't.
Roo- thanks for that, not sure where 6061 is- wouldn't dare try to copy his masterpieces. Anyway think that the atmosphere may be quite cracking and hopefully get the lads back into the right frame of mind. Is anyone going would love to know what your feelings are? I can only watch on tv,so can only get a feel from a distance.
yeah fair one. but Mike Jones was still "in charge" and I need someone to blame! Perryman - TV? is the game being broadcast tonight?
Nah, City/Chelsea in the UK. In Australia you can get most PL games, which sounds good but it does mean you have to live in Australia!
hmmm... doesn't sound bad to me! on that topic, what's the situation these days with streaming? do decent streams still exist, where you don't have to download all sorts of different media players and programs to watch a game? if so, does anyone know any? City v Chelsea - need a massive favour there from City tonight.
Roo, I use front row sports(US TV mainly). always English commentary, although you do have to put up with the American Studio presenters at half time. Give it a try.
