Are you serious? You don't rate Drogba? If he came into our squad, he would comfortably be second best. The last time i watched him play, he looked back to his beastly best. Even bigger respect that he carries on playing so well when Chelsea is playing so dreadfully.

  5. Every 10 matches he plays to his old level. Not what we need.

You have to bear in mind that Chelsea have been pants all season and in all sorts of contraversy. Another manager has resigned, the whole Torres saga, JT saga, player power and Abramovich sticking his beak in again. To single handedly drag that sorry state of a Chelsea team through the Champions League should be applauded.

But on a side note, i'd rather we pay some good money and buy a quality young striker. This debate is just about bringing in some frees that will improve our squad and Drogba would in everyway.

  7. Not sure he would - you also have to consider the personalities in the dressing room. I am not sure Drogba would be good for us.

Yeah but he'd not be free. I assume we'd insist Chelsea pay us cash to take him and they probably won't after already wasting 50m on him...

How anyone can want Torres after his dreadful season is anyones guess. He really has been bad. I thought it was a blip but to have a continuous blip thoughout the season is something else. It's not just his mind thats gone but so has his legs. I remember him taking players on for pace and or out muscling them just a couple of years back. Now he looks like bambi on ice.....

On the Drogba debate. I'm not certain that we wan't someone who is is in decline. In any case I am not sure that he has all the qualities we need to play in our system.

RVP, Podolski, Campbell, Walcott, Park - this will be good enough options down the centre of the field imo - we don't really need any striker - so if not getting one on a free i think it wouldn't be worth the money.

i wouldn't mind having Del Piero for the experience factor and the aura he would bring around him, i wouldn't expect him to play much, but you do have to admit, it would be amazing to have a player like him around, he is a true legend, and an old school legend from the era of Zidane, Fat Ronaldo, Shearer, Zola, Rui Costa etc so he would bring a lot to the team in regards to that area.

I remembered this thread after Drogba produced another Champions League winning performance. As i said before, i would definately go for Drogba on a free, the guy has still got it in bucket loads. If he plays against us this weekend, he will be causing our defence some major problems!
