Swarbs. You might change your mind about not joining the ''Green and vomit'' protest having read this.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glazer_ownership_of_Manchester_United#Refinancing

On 11 January 2010, shortly before an announcement that Red Football's debt had increased to £716.5 million ($1.17 billion),[19] Manchester United announced their intention to refinance the debt through a bond issue worth approximately £500 million.[20] They managed to raise £504 million in just under two weeks, meaning that they were able to pay off almost all of the £509 million owed to international banks. The bonds were issued in two tranches, one with a coupon rate of 8.75% worth £250 million, and the other with a coupon rate of 8.375% worth $425 million. The annual interest payable on the bond came to approximately £45 million per annum, but the bond will not mature until 1 February 2017.[21] Contained within the bond prospectus are covenants which will allow the Glazers to filter large sums of money out of the club to repay the PIKs by 2015. These include the carving out of £95 million in cash, the sale and lease-back of the Carrington training facility, and the ability of the Glazers to pay themselves 50% of the Consolidated Net Income of the club every year.[1]

I bet you also say, "If you're going to shout I'm not going to discuss it" in the delusion that it somehow makes you not only right but morally superior.

You seem wound up. Perhaps you have an emoticon to prove you're not? Stick a row of them in to really emphasise the point, like an intelligent and mature holder of a degree would.

Too late. You're having an internet argument so you're sad by default. It's not a good combo when mixed with moral righteousness and excessive emoticon usage.

Anyway, it's not like owners are able to lie about the money, because accounts get published:

That was my point. He also had to publish accounts, just like Gill.

I think he's doing a fine PR job. The misguided ones are the thousands at OT, with the scarves and the banners and the websites and the organisations and the alternative club they set up, when in reality they've got loads of money to spend in the transfer market, which they will spend in the transfer market, obviously. And when Rooney goes it'll be an even bigger nest egg, though nest egg is perhaps the wrong phrase because it suggests it's being saved for an emergency, which won't happen to Utd.

You could say the majority of Utd fans are deluded about their finances because Gill says they are, though not in so many words. Also deluded are the independent financial analysts who said the bond issue had a lot of sneaky small print allowing the Glazers to keep milking Utd and that Utd would have to keep selling players to fund it. Pth, fInancial analysts, eh? Maybe 'analyst' begins with anal because they talk out of their arses.

Didn't Hicks do a similar PR job.?
Look where that got him........He almost ended up in prison for contempt of court.
He''s lost a fortune in legal fees too,as not only did he have to pay his own,he had to pay Liverpools too.As the loser in a civil case pays both.
He could lose more seeing as he's been sued by Martin Brougton.

A "couple" doesn't just mean more than one. It means two.
Spurs were better than you last season and are currently above you, thus have been better than you this.
You mock City but, like Spurs, they are above you. What gives you any right to laugh at them or call them a joke?
Ironically, you could do with a handful of their players..

It seems that Swarbs is dumb enough to believe Gill.
He also says that JWH and FSG won't spend money(okay a decent amount)
Does he not realise that John Henry once spent $50 million on a baseball player because he knew it would piss the New York Yankees off, because they wanted him.

Am I missing something.Does the league finish in March.
Well it must do,as Man United fans are celebrating a treble.
Yes Spurs are above us,but they are dropping points more often than Jordan drops her knickers.
    Lets wait and see.Shall we.
As I said Spurs fluked 4th last year, and when Kenny gets it right in the summer, they will be obliterated. As will City.Man United and Chelsea don't need destroying, they are doing a good enough job themselves at it.

Celebrating a treble...? If you say so...
Again, You feel next season's title's in the bag. Fair enough...I have this page bookmarked.

City will be attracting much better players than you this summer.. so we'll wait and see if you obliterate them.

Oh yeah, I forgot, Liverpool's owners have a wealth of £100 Billion -and the transfer market is only open for Liverpool this summer.

I running scared at the thoughts of the players Man City are able to attract.I just hope that they sign yet another striker that is allergic...to grass.
They also have Edin Dzeko. The ''Bosnian Emile Heskey'',Okay he was prolific in the Bundeliga, but then again so was Andriy Voronin.I didn't see any club pay £27 million for him.

Whilst I agree that Dzeko is awful and Balotelli is a joke, you are aware that City will likely be playing Champions League Football next season..The calibre of player they will attract will be much higher.

And despite you laughing at these players, and City in general, they are above you and have been better than you this season...

A lot of clubs should be ahead of Liverpool this season after the dreadful season,we've had.But guess what, they aren't.
If Liverpool after having one of their worst seasons in recent memory, can finish above Spurs who are sooooooo brilliant. What will Liverpool do when they get their act together.?
I may have been wrong earlier by saying that Liverpool are immediately heading for the top,as that I have to admit is rediculous, but the signs look very promising, and it won't take the 4-5 years that Swarbs suggested. That is also rediculous.However.Man City are not as good as some will believe.Mancini looks to be also on his way out,and it whoever goes in will have to gel together yet another team,as half the players that Mancini signed may not fit into the new managers plans.

Fair enough that you feel you are destined for the top -but it isn't that easy, and i'm sure City and Chelsea fans will feel they are destined for the top also.

Also it isn't ridiculous to suggest that it will take 4-5 years for you to win the league. It isn't even ridiculous to suggest you wont be in the top 2 in 4-5 years.

You seem to talk as if it's your right to be there....
The fact that you will probably miss out on Champions League football this year, while City won't, is going to be critical when it comes to transfers this summer.

Yes, Mancini will probably be on his way, but surely this is a bad thing for the rest of us. Everyone knows how defensive and unambitious he is.
The reality is that City probably have the best squad in the league. The quality in depth that they have is very good. The likes of Bellamy and Given are surplus to requirements, and very few teams could even dream of that, unfortunately for them their manager lets them down big-time.
If they bring in a high profile manager with draw and ambition they could blow us all away. They only need a few more players, the core is there. The only way I can see City taking a backward step this summer is if they don't qualify for fourth place -which I hope they don't.

It's true Spurs aren't miles ahead of you. But they have been juggling their Champions League ambitions alongside their Premiership ambitions whilst Liverpool have used the Europa league to rest players at times.
Should they somehow qualify for the Champions League next season then they will be able to widen the gap between themselves and you.
Fair enough you haven't been at your best, but ask any Tottenham fan, they'll tell you haven't been at their best this season either...

You tend to churn out silly statements such as:
"when Kenny gets it right in the summer, they will be obliterated. As will City."
As if Tottenham and City have no ambitions/ plans to "get it right in the summer"...

This must be the funniest thread of all time reading KingPips assessment of whats likely to happen within the next couple of years!!

    :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

The real facts are that Man Utd will always be there or there abouts for the premiership, champions league and domestic cups, so will Chelsea (unless Roman walks, but then I wouldn't bet against some billionare Arab buying it up), Arsenal (due to their stadium and marketing) and now Man City. These 4 teams will be fighting for the top 4 places from now on for a good few years. Spurs have a great chance if they can move to a new stadium and will be on par with Arsenal. Liverpool unfortunately will be somewhere between 5 and 10th due to the lack of champions league money and stadium. It'll only get worse. AND THATS FROM SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T EVEN SUPPORT ANY OF THE TOP 5/6 TEAMS.

    Now KingPip, STFU!!!!!

Typical united fan slating certain players without knowing nothing of them and they not a wet week in the league. Tell me, how does Dzeko's season so far for both clubs compair to 200k a week Wayne Rooney's season so far?

Swarbs, you believe mainly Gil, abd those people re finances when it suits you mate, of course for the simple reason of shares and their worth United will definately put a gloss on the financial situation and the year ahead, even players may not come to the swamp if they think united have money woes, so of course there is plenty of reason to put a gloss on everything. I mean, you couldn't shift your season tickets at the start of the season, that says a lot about the quality of manchester united's players and football, in fact is says it all, some deem it not worth going to watch by the looks of it. Your club is in a healthy position no doubt, but your spending power is greatly diminished and the money ye had was wasted on Berba and a few other choice signings, in fact, without the added bonus of Hernandez there wasn't much at all added to the team with the signings of the past couple of years, even nani has not returned one decent season yet in what has to be the easiest of all top leagues for a supposedly tricky pacey player.

You will have to look long and hard for players that want to come to United, especially when they are 3rd? in the wages and transfer stakes in the permiership. Chelsea are ammasing a good rep abroad because of their squad, all well known internationally, who wants to play with Wayne Rooney, some may say who is he, who is Hernandez Scholes and the list goes on and gets even more ambiguous reputation wise till you get to park anderson evans ect ect, uniteds appeal abroad was auld Becks and Ronaldo at their best, lets see em put Rooney's face on cereal boxes in spain or the USA:)

The pull of Real and Barca and Inter are too strong right now, if a player can pick one of those then they wont pick the premiership, though a very good player will think he can get into that united squad in his sleep, so that may be the only reason a top class player will choose United
