Chelsea in for Krul and Tiote for £30m

Surely we've all realised, having been told, that if the right price is offered by another club, the player will go.

The longer contracts simply increase the transfer offer.

 

Both contracts expire in 2017, they're both in the top 5 players in the league in terms of their roles and we're one of the most financially healthy teams in europe...£30 million for them both, nonsense!

He is on the pitch for himself, he has no interest in playing for the team. Football is 11v11 not 1v11.

Did you see him against Leicester on Sunday?? He looked like a spoilt kid.

 

Krul is worth about £15m, same with Tiote on this seasons form. So I think that's a pretty fair deal for Newcastle. You could probably replace Tiote with Guthrie (who has been as good as him in the games he's played this season, IMO) and Krul with someone like Vorm who is around the same level as him although not as young.

 

I dont rate Guthrie at all, he takes a decent set piece once in one hundred attempts. The guy adds nothing to the team and I would be gutted if we lost Tiote and didn't bring in another class replacement.

On another note though... how much do you think Carrol, Henderson and Downing are worth?? Maybe combined you could swap them for Simpson or Lovenkrands

Downing about 8-10m, Carroll about 10m and Henderson about 15m, which is what we paid.

Not that bothered about it though, at least I know most of the money we make goes toward buying new players. That fills me with great confidence for the future. Yes, we may have overpaid but hey its not my money and the owners could easily have pocketed it instead of spending it.

 

I have only seen Henderson when he is on SKY/ESPN but I think he is bloody awful! lol I dont think he would get into a Championship team.

 

There is no way Henderson is worth the same as Tiote, just because he is English doesn't make him any better.
I agree in Carroll's price tag, but once he gets on form he'll be deadly. I still think one day he will justify the price tag you paid.
Downing is about that £8-10m is about right.
