The problem is we did not beat Liverpool, we just nicked it. They were better, we were lucky. We were better than Newcastle, but again same problem - lots of chances no goals. Were extremely lucky again in the end. Against Milan we played with freedom because we had absolutely nothing to loose. That was before the break. After the break the burden of expectation was back again - we needed just one goal. Everyone expected us to beat Milan on aggr. And we failed to do it, just froze. That what can easily happen again. Now he HAVE to beat Everton.

On the surface we look confident, but a team can not change from nervous wrecks to a confident unit in a month. They need a long long run of wins where they outplay the opposition not just outscore them. Then they will slowly build some confidence. I would go even further ans say that Arsenal will never be a confident team unless they win a trophy.

  2. Denilson's was better than Fabregas too. Most of his passes are five yards backwards or sideways - like Ramsey.

Basically 'pass completion rate' is one of the most irrelevant stats in football.

I'm pointing out that the argument that he 'always gives the ball away' isn't true.

  4. Well we did beat Liverpool and Newcastle at the end of the day, and there are some encouraging signs that the team are starting to believe in themselves - something sadly lacking for years. I do think though that the situation is fragile at the moment - we did freeze against Milan in the second half, maybe down to fatigue, maybe down to mentality...

At this stage of the season every game is battle - and it will come down to whether the team really believes they are good enough. Massive 10 games, not just for this season, but many to come.

Huh? You just contradicted yourself. Liverpool were unlucky because they were better and we nicked it but you also say we were lucky against Newcastle despite being the better side. There was nothing lucky about the Newcastle win.

  6. I didn't say 'he always gives the ball away'.

Amaar's post pretty much nailed it as far as Ramsey is concerned.

We fully deserved the win against Newcastle. We did nick the game against Liverpool. But the main point is that we won both games <ok>

Calm down Jayram, I was referring to the common theme that he gives the ball away too much. No need to take it personally, but his pass completion rate is actually very good.

Anyway, I've no desire to turn this into an argument about Ramsey. He needs to improve, but I think people are a bit harsh on him at times.

I'm more interested in exposing Kentish Man as a wum, who's only intent on here is to try and stir up **** <ok>

Jayram, Jayram, just as you start to make sense, "Ramsey is having a poor season..."

Then you can' resist turning the screw and going into LALA land with, "There are no signs yet that he will be top class."

Come on mate, the man has captained Wales. Not a top class country, but still. He is playing for Arsenal, a top 4 club in the premiership, Arsene Wenger Obviously thinks he is good. I'd say they were all signs. I think a lot of people would claim he already is top class, but you go back and claim "no sign"!

Have a rest, go feed the guide dog, and take it easy, you are obviously ill.

  15. Being the captain of Wales does not make a player top class.

Arsene Wenger thinks he is good - obviously, but then he thought Bendtner was top class, and Squillaci, and Denilson, and Senderos, and Cygan, and Stepanovs... I could go on, and of course they all played in top 4 sides. Clearly Wenger makes mistakes, so the argument that because Wenger rates him makes him top class is foolish.

As I said, no signs of being top class yet - good player, sure - top class, no.

To be fair though Jayram, you have consistently called him ****. So is he '****' or a 'good player' ?

  17. When he's screwing up in an important game - at that moment he is ****. <whistle>

The next day he is good - but certainly not top class

    So **** momentarily, but generally a good player then ? . . <laugh>

I would say, a decent player who is improving.

  19. Yeah something like that.. in fact he's worse than **** at the moment he does one of those back flicks to nobody - at that point I want to somehow reach into the TV screen and throttle the bastard.

When those back flicks start coming off, you'll be saying he's as good as Iniesta <laugh>
