    Afternoon Arsenal fans.

After discussing your performance yesterday with a few fans, many stated they were losing/lost their patience with Wenger: "Why havent we bothered to invest in a couple of players? it's so bleeding obvious", they said.

I was quite shocked that they were becoming disillusioned to the point of wanting a replacement.

Personally I think you guys need a Campbell/ Vieira and maybe Shay Given. Until you do this I think you continue to come up short. Just think if you had kept Toure and bought his brother. I am positive you would of won the league and a few cups.

What are your thoughts on this, and Wenger's position/judgement in general?

I am happy with the goal keepers, szczesny looks exceptional and Fabianski is also a good keeper, its just really bad luck that they are both out for the season.

In defence Djourou and Vermaelen could form an excellent partnership, but once again it is a shame that they are both injured. Koscienly is still a little bit raw but he has the potential to be a top defender in my opinion. Squillaci is a decent backup.

In midfield we need more cover for Song as without him we lose a physical presence in midfield. That and another top striker who doesn't get injured would be what I want. We cannot pin our hopes on RvP as he just cannot stay fit long enough. Even though I largely agree that with Wenger that throwing money at something does not solve problems, I think we need to make a big signing to show we mean business. When we signed Arshavin for example he got us in to the top 4 as he won matches on his own and gave a lift to the rest of the team as well.

    Pretty much what he said,
Although with Chamakh comin in an Bendtner improving, RVP gets abit more rest, and can play for more of the season much like he has this season,
Cover for song is a must, i'd go for someone older like frings just to hang about and give abit of experience etc when it's needed, but still a good player!

    Szneznkey
    Sagna--Djourou--TV--Clichy
    ---------Song
    --Fabregas-----Wilshere
    Walcott----RVP-------Nasri
Is a VERY VERY good first team, But without Song, its standard drops quite alot,
Also with Fabregas getting more and more injuries, he needs someone who can take his place and actually still perform especially in the cup games against lower league oppositions to give him the breaks he needs!!

Agree with the sentiments above. We've got a great team, but injuries always cost us dear. Our squad needs one or two additions. A proven and experienced CB, someone like Phillepe Mexes would be good. Also cover for song. I'd like to see Wenger put in another bid for Melo. <ok>

I don't but I can see why people do. No one should have unconditional loyalty and for 5 years we have been banging our head against a brick wall. Apart from in 2008 when we almost dropped out of the top 4 we start the season well and stay in the mix but then fade away when the inevitable injuries rob us of key players around january to april.

That is not just bad luck and seeing as we have gone through enough players Wenger has to be to blame for it. Sooner or later something needs to change, although he still has my support if this carries on for a few more years I will probably want him to leave.

We are a couple of players away from one of the best sides the premiership has seen and this is down to Wenger. So no I do not want to see him go but I do want to see him learn from mistakes and have a plan B like most managers do tactically

im not bothered if he goes, IF mourinho comes in instead. wenger has brought some glory days(pre 2005-2006 season) to arsenal and long may it continue(prem league 2011-). If it dont work then mourinho in would keep me happy

Wenger will leave Arsenal as and when he sees fit. To sack a manager who has operated on a midtable budget (at best) for failing to win trophies would be a big mistake imo. Yes, Arsenal have a large wage bill but it is still smaller than that of Chelsea, Man City and United. Yet Arsenal are above 2 of those sides in the league.

our wage budget is tiny compared to the rest of the so called "big four"

Arsenae is the best thing to happen to arsenal and i wouldnt want him to leave however if he did, , mourinho would be the man to replace him imo

I dunno, when everyone's fully fit we look very dangerous, we won about 8 games in a row when we had our strongest team starting.

Djourou and Koscielny seems to work great, and Vermaelen for Kossy can only be an improvement.

Szczesny is really coming on, he will be world class.

Walcott gives us pace, Fab gives us Incision, Nasri and RVP give us goals from nothing.

For me, if we were to sign a new LB and a DM as cover for Song, somebody like Tioté, Parker or M'Vila, maybe even Moussa Sissoko, I think we could be great, especially if we keep most players fully fit.

Even so to say a team who are not even top of a poor premier league this year cannot be said to be close to one of the greatest premiership sides ever.
