This article on the Chelsea board accuses Liverpool FC of being selfish for refusing to play our semi-final on the anniversary of Hillsborough.

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/131649-Liverpool-being-selfish

The author of it cites that Manchester United and Bradford play on the anniversaries of the tragedies their respective clubs suffered.

I dont know if hes right about that or not,it could be he's getting mixed up with them playing a fixture very close to the actual day of the anniversary.
He also states that our refusal will mean Chelsea will lose a day's rest before their CL fixture,I can see his point as a Chelsea supporter looking at the situation that way but if the roles were reversed he'd what a heartless twat he looks.
If his club feel the same as him they'll make a formal complaint to the FA and LFC will stand by their decision.

If a game is to be played on the 14th or 16th we'd play it but i dont think we should ever play on the actual day of the anniversary.

do you notice the SCUMBAG the racist scumbag who authored the article, it only took me 1second to just back out of that link.

that filth has gone around not606 posting deeply racist comments about LFC and has bascially been allowed to do it scot free so I think calling him a filthy racist scumbag is the least i can do.

Chavski have actually got to get to the CL semi's yet. They're talking as if Benfica are a formality.

    OP
Why are you trying to stoke the fires?
Had you read all the thread you'd know the OP made a mistake with his dates and there is no conflict with Chelsea.

You're actually worse than the person you're complaining about.

Slight over reaction by the op, but if Liverpool don't want to play on that date I think anyone should be able to understand and respect that.

    Complaining?

Where did you come up with that little gem lad?,its a difference of opinion about an issue thats very important to our club and our supporters.
If you read my OP you'll see i said i can see his point of view as a Chelsea supporter.
As for him making a mistake with his dates thats his problem,he certainly used his 'mistake' to 'stoke up the fires' judging by some of comments on the thread on your board.
Shogun an Evertonian and a Scouser was ripped to pieces on the thread for having an opinion that backed our stance.

The debate on this thread on our board is do you think LFC's stance is selfish?,so answer the question or do one.

I thought you were calling him a racist and such but by his article he doesn't seem to have said anything racist. It was infact the poster below, my mistake.

I do agree the article might have been a bit disrespectful but I wouldnt have said it to be racism?

mito said he'd made racist remarks about LFC on another thread.

This thread is not about racism so why did you use the word three times in your comment?

Are you attempting to derail a thread based on a completely different subject?

I'm really not, your now trying to make me look bad. Mostly what I was trying to say was that Chelsea article isn't as bad as you might think, slightly disrespectful yes but not worth all out war over. If anything the only thing this thread will cause is a massive argument resulting in it being closed.

Also I have not called anyone racist, I just saw that guy being accused of racism and couldn't understand why. Fair enough if he has been elsewhere.

So calm yourself down I have no intention of having to defend my comments anymore.

You accuse me of over reaction.

    <laugh>

First you wrongly accuse me of using racism as part of my article, then you accuse me of over reaction in supporting my clubs stance on respecting the memory of our fallen brothers and sisters, then you imply i've accused you of calling someone racist, then you as somebody that doesn't support LFC tell me the reaction on the Chelsea thread wasn't as bad as i think and was only slightly disrespectful when you wouldn't know the true feelings of a Liverpool supporter on the issue and your telling me in a roundabout way you'll get this thread closed by causing 'a massive argument'.

    Massive over reaction there lad.

    Sound,i agree.

Its becoming more and more difficult to discuss anything to do with our club on our board without outsiders putting a spanner in the works.

    CLOSE IT DOWN!

I can see why Liverpool wouldn't want to play a match on the anniversary. However couldn't it also be a good memorial if they played on that day with a good minutes silence/applause for those who died. I wonder what relatives would prefer if you gave them a choice?

I think playing the game on that day would be good to raise awareness of such tragedies because the media would probably do yearly build ups to 'hillsborough memorial matches' or whatever they'd tag it as. More people would know when it is and know the facts rather than have a day where not a lot is done outside of Liverpool in terms of paying respect.

    Thoughts?

    This

Liverpool FC need to move on, all those that died would want you to play to honour them.
and it puts pressure on the Gov to release the reports.
