Tash has become a target of radical American Christians and well as al-Qaeda. Several transfer targets were raised and mainly dismissed and it was quite sunny. That's about it in a nutshell.

I bought a beer for the train home and the ring pull fell off. I tried in vain to attack it with a bull dog clip and the other passengers laughed at me.

    Sums up my day.

Congrats on passing the test as well. Remember; don't drink and drive. Drink first, then drive.

Ahh bloody nightmare!! Nothing worse than strangers laughing at you either. Should have thrown the bulldog clip at them.

<cheers> Thanks man! I think that was my mistake last time though... <whistle>

Doesn't work... Is it big pimpin'?

Congratulations, now you can completely forget what you have been taught about driving safely and with consideration for other road users.

    Your first driving challenge:

Find a quiet country lane with enough twist and turns to keep it interesting.
    Wait till it gets dark.
    Turn off your head lights.
    Switch on the hazard lights.
    Nail it.

Growing up in the countryside before the release of Colin McRae rally; this was the closest we could get.

I have been passed 2 years on May 1st. Awesome feeling. Passed first time with 9 minors, how many did you get?

I have forgot pretty much everything I was told, now is the time you start learning. I cross my hands when I drive which you are told not to do, both hands on the wheel, **** that, do the speed limit...err...I drive my dad's 2.2 so there is no chance of that happening. Road rage is killing me though. Nothing worse than being behind someone who can't do the speed limit. Like 25 in a 30, you are already going slow enough without Betty in the way, and 50 in a 60 on a straight road is another one. Hate it, barely get the chance to overtake. The worst one though is people rushing to get out infront of you when approaching a junction, you catch them up, and although they were like Lewis Hamilton getting out of the junction, they then slow down!! Jesus I hate driving!

  13. Well, i was nearly finished with my test that i was doing in october last year. I only had 3 minors, all i had to do was travel about 400 yards to the test centre, and some toss pot smacked straight into the back of me when i was stationary at a roundabout. I got £1800 in compensation, but my test had to be aborted. I still have to sit it, but i don't have the confidence to get back into a car now :S

That's quite harsh, if you had done he manoeuvres and shown that you could drive then I fail to see why they couldn't pass you. The 40 minutes was probably up anyway. Driving is easy, everyone tends to have 1 crash, and you have got yours out the way before you have even passed. Wouldn't worry about it mate, was it an arsehole who hit you? He will whine at learner drivers which I think is horrible and would have been up your arse, and would have tried to blame you did he?

You guys would hate it where I live. Max speed limit 35mph, 25mph in lots of areas and nowhere to really open up even if you do fancy breaking the law. Oh and no points system. First time you get caught speeding, straight to court for a fine and an almost definite one month ban.

And some people still drive below the limit. Seriously try driving at 20mph in anything other than ride on lawnmower it is really difficult to do!

People worry too much, but if you can't control a car at legal speed limits then I have doubts about them as a driver! Some people have no consideration for people behind. Its like slowing down to 20mph when there is a speed camera van there and the limit is 30mph.

Passed with 2 minors 3 years ago now <nahnah>, wish I'd went in for the advanced test while I was fresh as it would have meant a damn sight less to pay on the insurance! Now I've got that many bad habits it'd take ages to get out of them!

I used to be a speedy gonzalez ragging the **** out of my 1.5 dci dynamique clio usually sat around 120 on the A1/M1 (regular trips to Sheffield/Worksop as my girlfriend had moved home for a year) until West Yorkshire's finest :police: clocked me on one of my slower days - speedo said 95, thank **** it was out as they clocked me at 93mph - (the 2 mph more would have meant a court appearance!), so I've had 3 points on my license since April last year <whistle>.
Luckily the sp50 (motorway conviction) means less than sp40 (think it's that for residential) to insurance companies as in one of their salesman's very own words, "Everybody speeds on the motorway" - so with 2 years no claims and turning 21 last July my premiums have still dropped £1.5k this year :smiley-finger007:.
Nowadays though I'm definitely more laid back, so don't speed :)!

Anyway congratulations Wein & unlucky Tash, that's a damn shame!

Absolutely. I actually think it is more dangerous to drive really slowly. High speed means you have to concentrate much harder. At really low speeds like 20 or 30 mph it gives your mind a chance to wander because everything appears to happen so slowly. I really look forward to any chance to get off the rock and open up on a motorway.

Slow drivers really do my head in, especially over here, 35 or 25 mph is already really slow for flips sake why drive slower!
