Not £25m sky high though, or higher as many seem to suggest. Of the appropriateness of that figure, there is a lot of doubt.

Not for you apparently. 19000 posts in just over a year says it all.

I think £25m+ will be decent business for Tiote. He's not hit the heights of last season and at the end of the day is only one player. If we get someone in of similar ilk, free up some cash and sign the likes of Pieters et al then I'd be happy.
One thing for certain is that I'm going to judge the summer business after the season closes.
As we speak I'm filling in my renewal forms for my ST next year and have a very positive outlook.

As I say his value in todays market is about 20m+ judging general concensus. 35m to Liverpool of course.

While Tiote is good, I think we'd be a better team without him but with:

    a. A good left back

    b. A solid CB, and

    c. A proper right wing

For £15 million, perhaps plus, we can get all of those. Guthrie and Abeid can hold down the CM post - - I think Abeid will have made it his own by the time he's 20

If we don't buy a LB, a CB, RW, and possibly a token wonderkid signing. I'll be disappointed, especially if we lose a few players!
With Vuckic gaining valuable first team football, also he was amazing when he first played first team.

Also Abeid looks decent, so really looking forward to next season, without this season even finishing.

For this season, want to finish above Liverpool and Sunderland.
For Summer transfers, get rid of deadwood.
Replace a few players, give Guthrie a new contract.
    Tie down Ba.
Also what's the deal with Ba's contract?
Can he leave for a nominal fee in the Summer?
Want to see him and Cisse next season. :D

The minimum price for Tiote would be 17m. That was the combined cost of the three Sunderland midfielders he monstered single handedly on derby day, so I think its a fair starting point.

I approve, but have you taken VAT and inflation because of selling to rival teams?

Hmm, I see. Its looking increasingly likely that 20-25m was the correct ballpark.

I reckon smack bang in the middle of that would be acceptable for MA.
I wonder if Graham Carr is already looking for the next Tiote. :D

Probably already has him pinpointed. He'll be french speaking no doubt! Funnily enough I had been saying for a while I'd like us to have a go at bringing in Muamba to offer options in the role. Really rate the lad highly.

    This makes for interesting on Tiote;

    http://www.eplindex.com/11381/analysing-fellaini-rivals-opta-stats.html

See the chart on page 2.

I do rate Tiote but I think this puts in things into perspective. The main criticism I would have of the piece are the lack of stats on interceptions (which Tiote excels at) but even with including that stat I imagine Tiote is still going to come out lower this season even than Lucas or Mulumbu....granted you cant always compare players given differing styles of play but theres certainly things to chew over there

If we get 30m for them I suggest we sell:

    Perch 2m
    Simpson 5m
    Obertan 5m
    Krul & Tiote 30m
    Lovenkrands free
    Ameobi 1m

    And buy:

    Hugo Lloris 15m
Steven Fletcher 7m (Wolves will go down)
    Šime Vrsaljko 5m
    Hoillet free
    Javi Martinez 20m

    -------------Lloris-----------------------

    Vrsaljko--------Collo---------Saylor---------Santon

    ---------------Martinez---------Cabaye------------

    Ben Arfa-----------------------------------Gutierrez--

    ----------------Ba-------------Ciise-------------------

Subs: Elliot, Raylor, Williamson, Guthrie, Hoillet, Fletcher, Best
