£25M For Tiote, £20m for Krul. Throw in Sturridge and you've got a deal. Otherwise go get someone worse.
sadly though i think Tiote will leave, Krul won't yet.

You said Krul was worth the £30m alone. He isn't.

Hes a decent keeper but hes not as good as some make him out to be.

Certainly is derisory. Mainly because of the Tiote factor for me. He is worth 20m + alone and Krul is worth 15m +. So that's 35m even if you take them at their bottom end value.

People keep saying that. How do you justify £20m for Tiote? He's been mediocre this season.

Quite easily to be honest. He hasn't been at his best this due to having a bit of a slow start and his season being broken up by ACON/injuries. Yet he has still had some monsterous games. Man U at home, Arsenal away, Sunderland at home to name but a few. To the top teams, he is a gold. Top class players in his position are few and far between. Given the respective weakness of a number of the top sides in this area, he would be heavily sort after.

He runs the midfield on his own at times and has an excellent all round game. The top teams will also think there is a fair bit untapped there too. Obviously they back their coaching above ours, and believe they can improve players.

Its all opinions but I think most would think 20m+ for Tiote. Therefore the 30m is derisory.

Yep, it's all opinions, though I don't think his all round game is excellent. He offers pretty much zero in terms of assists and goal threat and his general distribution this season has been poor. I honestly just think he's overrated. Him and Cabaye both. Cabaye has yet to find his feet, but hopefully he'll improve given time. Tiote hasn't got that excuse.

Cabaye has just tired. 18 months is the point at which to judge him. His early season suggests he'll be top class once he gets used to the pace. I'm looking forward to him next season. I disagree with most of your comments on Tiote but there you go. Distribution is top notch, and he doesn't really need to offer a goal or assist threat in his role (though he is involved in the build up to a fair few goals)

The bottom line with Tiote isthat he is heavily sort after by most of the top clubs and the likes of Ferguson, Wenger and even O'Neill have admitted admiration for him. They know their footballers with all due respect.

Tiote is one player if he left i would fear the most.
He would destroy the likes of some of our players :(

You can express your admiration for a player after you witness them putting in a good performance as those managers did, but when it comes to signing a player, you take their performances as a whole, and in that regard, Tiote falls short this season.

And exactly what manager is setting these plans to buy these player?

    RDM? I doubt it

They have 4 goal keepers and Essien in midfield, so WTF would they splash this sort of money on 2 players for positions which are well filled and effectivly spend a large part of the trransfer kitty before a full time manager has been appointed?

    Paper speculation

Opinions and speculation, two things that have been with us a long time and will remain with us for a long time.

Plus it helps to sell red tops.

To be honest I was talking generally, not about this board. I'm saying he has been at his best but he's hardly had a shocker. And his value/stock is still sky high, of that there is no doubt.

Talking about opinions and speculation, that's ll the article is. Maybe Chelsea want Tiote. Maybe Krul. Maybe they have a figure in mind. Maybe it's £30 million.

Until there's a few less maybes, we don't really have to worry about whether £30 million is a good price or not

It's the people on this board that keep the forum going, not the people that know people, that know people that have opinions. It's the opinions of the posters on here that we discuss, not the nameless faceless people.

Indeed there values is not really relevant. They are both players any Newcastle fan should be hoping we keep and build with. Might happen, might not but the papers is not a good starting point. Ever.

What a load of ****e. If someone says I'm alone in my opinion, then I'm perfectly justified in saying no actually that's not the case. We don't all live solely through this forum.
