http://www.sbnation.com/soccer/2011/3/21/2063427/stuart-holden-knee-injury-bolton-wanderers-usmnt Cheers Evans, just because your team doesn't have any good central midfielders, doesn't mean you have to **** up ours! I only though it would be a couple weeks, he's our main player in the center of the park. At least Carragher doesn't end people's career's (considering people are not as good after they get injured).
Try reading Carragher's autobiography where he admitted trying to injure one of his own team mates i.e. Song. Also are you implying Evans set out to end Holden's career? Pretty stupid comment if you are serious so please tell me you are joking. Both guys dived for the ball with their feet off the ground. Evans did get the ball but also the player which unfortunately resulted in this bad injury. Feel sorry for the lad. He's a good player and I hope he comes back far quicker than 6 months. But to suggest Evans was trying to end his career is pathetic. Bad tackle which the ref dealt with. Mind you it makes you wonder how the hell Carragher stayed on the pitch? But maybe the referees in both games where just trying to even up the bad decisions that go in Utd's favour, you know to take the heat off themselves and SAF considering that all ref's are paid by Utd.
He tries. But he's ****, so he fails. Really bad luck about Holden - it looked like all he had was a gashed leg at first. Looks like the impact must have damaged a ligament, hopefully medial and not the dreaded cruciate. He came back fine from a broken leg last year, so he should be fine after the surgery.
You can't suggest that Evans deliberately injured Holden, it was a bad tackle and Evans got a red card as he deserved. I don't like seeing players injured, but you aren't going to get peoples sympathy by accusing someone of doing something deliberately nasty when it was just a mistake. To then say Carragher is fine because he deliberately tried to badly injure a player but failed is facical becasue the intent makes it a hell of a lot worse than if it's an accident. the intent is what suggest if you're a nasty person or not. I do feel sorry for Holden, he's a decent player and like I said before I don't like seeing player injured whoever they play for but it's just something that happens from time to time due to the nature of the sport. Shwcross on Ramsey, not even a foul but Ramsey broke his ankle, the same thing happened to Valencia for us playing against Rangers, I didn't feel the need to imply that the Rangers player deliberately injured Antonio because that's nonsense. There are players and times when players look like they've gone in with intent, like Carragher on Nani, and those instances are more bookable imo because of the intent. Injujries happen, it's not nice but it's the nature of the sport.
Evans and Holden went into the tackle in virtually the same fashion. Holden was unlucky - hence why, according to the man himself, he holds no grudge.
Nothing wrong with it , he won the ball. Just because it was a United everyone moans. We have tackles like that going in our players two or three times a match and these are never picked up by referees. They try to cheat us but our class always wins in the end. Really hoping Bolton get to Wembley for the final because they would struggle to sell their tickets and probably send a good 5,000 back meaning we would get more.
Stupid. I forgot when people win the ball, they get sent off and injure another player, accidental or not. It's a FA cup final. We would fill because families and ****. EDIT - I've just seen the first four words of that quote, are you insane? And then later on you complain about 'just because it's Utd'. Stupid Stupid Stupid.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tci7mvxJUaU&feature=related He hit the leg before he hit the ball. Good way to win the ball. If I shot someone dead, then took the ball, would that be classed as winning the ball? Watch the match before commenting please. Common sense is a good attribute to have when having a discussion.
Please ignore ufos. He is not the most unbiased or factually accurate United fan. Although, if you watch the video closely, Evans did get to the ball first, but only by an instant (at 22 seconds on the vid). But it's irrelevant - a studs up, off the ground lunge is a red card offence. End of. Even SAF had no complaints with the red card.
Actually you are wrong, not defending the challenge, he deserved to be sent off because it was a stupid challenge, but he does get the ball first hitting it straight back off Holden's trailing leg before the players collide, you can even see that in the video you linked if you look closely.
As unfortunate as it is that Holden got injured, I do find it ridiculous that he didn't even get booked when his tackle was hardly one to be proud of either and he didn't get the ball. The result of the tackle should not be considered when dealing out bookings and red cards but the tackle itself should be in terms of timing and severity. Holden's certainly wasn't in this case.
You didn't have to watch it 300 times, if you used a bit of that common sense you were preaching you could of seen it after the original replays, and I don't see how it wasn't relevant when it was a direct reply to your statement about the incident.
