If the season was to end with us having reached the FA Cup qrtrs and finished 8th or 9th I for one would be happy with that. It would mark an improvement for us as a team and also signal a bright beginning for the O'Neill era. I believe with a couple of signings in the summer we should be pushing on next season.

However, this season of course is not over yet and we may still have something to say about who gets the FA Cup and especially the League. We are in for a hard test next week against Everton and either team will be up against it in the semis against Livepool.

My dream for the rest of the season "we win the Cup and finish 7th" but the icing would be, Man U have to win to take the title last game of the season at our place and we win 1-0. Ferguson would be gutted and O'Shea gets the goal from a corner. God I would laugh my bolloxs off.............

I love being a Mackem me!!!!

For the first time in many years I feel great about Sunderland's future both the immediate and the next few years. Managers have been given financial support in the past but this may be the time to puch the boat out for MON if he has a want to buy list.

For me an FA cup semi final and a top 10 finish would be great. I still think we could finish 7th but I think that might be a step to far.

Even if we finish 14th and get a trip to Wembley I would be happy. the teams between 7th and 14th are so close on points 1 win is the difference between 8 places. I think we just need to finish with a positive goal difference, that would mark a vast improvement.

I don't think we need many players, the squad at the moment is well balanced, we will need replace the loan signings of Bendtner, Bridge and Kiyriarkos and we will need to sort out what happens with Grodon, Bramble, Gyan and a couple of others. Generally I don't think many signings are needed, we just need a couple of quality signings and the most important which is re-signing Sess. European football could be a big help for us if we want to attract the best players.
