    Heart says 3-1 saints.
Head says 2-1 hull or 1-1 draw.

Says on OS that Lee unlikely to feature...shame as he's beginning to contribute.

Wonder if Sharp may start then - did allright when coming on. Having said that Guly had a good game and NA may want to keep Guly in the hole behind Rickie.

This is one of those games where I can easily see any one of the three possibles outcomes happening. Part of me thinks we'll win, part of me thinks we'll lose, and I'd say the most likely result is a draw. And I would happily take a draw.

It's Hull who make this game so interesting, and why I can see it going any way. Ordinarily, a strong defensive side would be right up our street. We are comfortably the best attacking side in the division, with the best striker in the division, but - despite our recent record - aren't the most secure at the back. So coming up against a side who aren't likely to take too much of an advantage of our defence is great. It allows our forward players to get on with what they do best. Just look at when Boro came to St Marys. Winning 2-0 or 3-0 wouldn't be out of the question.

But Hull's defensive record is so good, that's there's a decent chance that they could do the near impossible: keep a full strength Saints side out of 90 minutes. I really wouldn't put it past them. And in that instance, or they'd need to do would be to nick a goal and they've won. And whilst they don't have the firepower that we do, the likes of Koren and Fryatt are hardly bad players.

I'd be over the moon with a victory, absolotely over the moon. I really think that if we take six points from Hull and Doncaster, then we will get automatic promtion. Four wins from our last seven after that would surely be enough, and looking at the fixtures I'd be surprised if we didn't get those four wins. But because of this realistic chance of losing, I'd happily take a point.

Oh, and I think my team would be:

    Davis
    Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox
    Puncheon Cork Morgan Lallana
    Lambert Sharp

Martin, Hammond, Guly, De Ridder, Barnard/Falque/Chaplow

(Assuming Lee and Connolly are once again both out)

I think it'll be 2-1 us a late injury time winner for Sharp. With the Saints team going mental.

2 good teams who both play good football. I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Sadly, I think the spectacle will be somewhat ruined because of our dreadful surface. Despite Southampton scoring for fun this season, our defense is very trusty. If Hobbs can keep Lambert at bay, I reckon we can nick a 1-0. We seen to up our game against the better teams. For once, I can't see it being a draw...
I'll go 1-0, with Mclean scoring a beauty!

Adkins mentioned the poor surface...won't suit our thoroughbreds as Pardew said.

The pitch has improved over the past week or so(allegedly).

Why a poor game joesteinberg? Two decent footballing teams, I'm expecting a really good game.

I've been resisting the urge to say it, but yes: if we win this one, it will take a serious drop in form to keep us from going up.

...I am not here much because I am on other forums - but thought I would pass this one on. If we win tomorrow night, we will do serious morale damage to Reading and West Ham fans - they have this as a nailed on defeat, or at best a draw.

Fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed we can pull another rabbit out of the hat.....

We need to keep up the momentum & go for the win! I'm expecting both Reading & Westham to win. I think the score will be 4-3 to Mighty Saints just because everyone is expecting a very tight game. I'm expecting the opposite as both teams need the win with the increased chance of goals being scored :) Another point is that I don't think Hull have scored more than 3 goals in one game so if we score 4 we are guaranteed a win hehe :D COYR's!!!

Agreed. One goal either way. But should be an end to end game.

No disrespect but thats what most of the championship is saying about Southampton. Nothing much on paper but its not paper teams that win games. Hull City have been let down badly by a lack of a goal scorer. If we had a Lambert in our team then we would have one hand on the championship title already. Its gonna be a close all right up to the end of game 46.!!! All the best anyway after tonight.

Maybe at the start of the season but not now. The Championship managers voted for Lambert for player of the year and Lallana in the top 3. To have 2 players in the top 3 players in the Championship contradicts what you have said.
