To me, who we play from now on do not matter that much any more. There are no push over in cup competitions. Teams Left. Liverpool. Chelsea Sunderland or Everton Tottenham or Bolton Because of what happened at White Hart Lane Bolton are considering pulling out. Our thoughts go out to the family of Fabrice Muamba. With God every thing is possible.
The romantic in me says Everton the pragmatic in me says Sunderland for the reason bow4fowler mentions
I'd like to player Everton and then beat Spurs in the final - comprehensively. TBH I think Bolton should stay in the comp and give it a go against Spurs in the replay
We are more balanced as a team without Charlie Adam.Kenny please keep him on the bench and play Jay Spearing in his place.I do not think he should start any game this season again. Jay Spearing is doing the job. Comments:
Tru dat! I want Everton, saying they are due a win is all in the head, they just don't have the quality, and Gerrard and Carra make an effort against the blueshite, that they don't seem to make against the likes of Stoke, for example ;-) Bolton pulling out is bollox, did we pull out after Hillsborough? No we went and won the ****er for the 95 (at the time). No wonder they are always fighting relegation, if that is their piss poor attitude. I'd prefer Bolton in the final, just because I hate London teams getting to Wembley.
If you want to change the subject, it is best to start a new thread, and not confuse the **** out of people.
I don't think either of them is an easy game. I'd rather play Everton, just for the craic and the connections I have with Blues. I think Bolton should stay in and give it a go for Muamba. I agree it would be great to stuff the Spuds in the final, but my gut instinct is that Chelsea will get there.
Agree with this and that is great if we win, however, the pessimist in me wants us to play sunderland for exactly the same reasons.
The semi-finals are to be played on either 14 or 15 April. I think it would be very fitting to be playing Everton although Liverpool Football club will not play on the latter date.
honestly.... I think we have a scenario where a) we have had a sighter at wembley already, and will in all likelyhood pick up more tickets = like a home game b) neither everton nor sunderland have ever sniffed the place = unfamiliar = away game. I honeslty don't care which side comes through. Both are about the same level and are good opposition. Everton may go a bit stir crazy and bascially kick out and get someone like cahill heading for the early bath. On the othe rhand sunderland may just not turn up, you can never tell with MON whats going on in his head when it comes to cups. All in all i think I'd rathe rhave everton in the semis cos win or low at least someone in the city can have a cup final then... thats the nice part, the other part is wanting to rub noses in it if we win of course... thats only natrual right?
So i assume you wanted us to win yesterday so the possibility of an 'occasion' was kept alive? Im all for a derby game in the Semi but the Blues a due a Wembley victory against us(law of averages etc)and with that in mind i think Sunderland victory against Everton might be a better result for us.
No, but the draw was made after the result, so I didn't know it would happen. Would i have bet on a derby happening at wembley if the semi's were spurs/Bolton V Liverpool and everton/Sunderland V chelsea? probably not so I think its more understandable not wanting you to win before the draw was made.
Not a very fair assessment there Shogun,so you you wanted us to get beat by Stoke even though there was a possibility of a derby game at Wembley should we have won(which we did)and should everton win the replay, yet you think we should want you to win because there's a possibility of a derby game at Wembley. Double standards there mate.
There's a hell of a lot more chance of a Wembley derby now than what there was whilse your lot were playing.
That aint the point so stop moving the goalposts. There would have been zero chance of a derby in the semi or the final had we not have been in the draw.
