I have noticed that Norwich still have the same format website as us whilst being in Premiership. Was just wondering if we go up do you think Saints may redevelop ours Or continue to use the football league website templates. If we did redevelop it what features would you like to see on it? I personally would like to see the mobile site updated with more features and made a little easier to navigate.
May have something to do with contracts - I suspect if it expires at the end of the season, the format may well change.
Well with our great media department I should imagine it would be re-designed. Not really anything wrong with the current one however.
No views on website...does what I want...but I believe we have a contract. Vaguely remember something about Cortese not being happy with it, but can't remember where I heard it.
Our marketing and advertising department is utter cack and it is well known. Also the current interface is rubbish, cortese hates it and it will change.
Why do I have to enter the same opening page on the current website twice before I get into the site itself?
With our website, we are contracted with the football league (and the company who designs all the teams websites) to have format as we do now. If we are to break out of this contract, it would be very, very costly. However, one way we can get out of the contract is if we get promoted to the premier league. Heard this a while back, but not sure where from.
You don't have to. Just bookmark/make a favourite one of the pages inside the site, say like Latest News, and you'll bypass everything straight into the site. For example, what about this link..? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/Home
I don't like our website, it's too bland and similar to others I want our website to be unique, have our own design to it
Anyone know what would happen to Saints Player if we were to change our website? Would be a shame to see that go.
I heard that Cortese intended to change the website, and possibly get our friends aap3 to sort a new site out if we were to reach the Premier League. As cdvdtz says though, I'd be devastated if it meant we lost live radio commentary. Putting up highlights is easy enough, but live BBC streaming would be a big loss. Unless... the club launched its own match-day radio station. Who knows.
There's a small window after promotion where we can get out of the contract. Which I imagine Cortese will take advantage of.
In one of the 'Chairman dinners', Cortese said that the website would be changing this summer once the contract runs out for it. We've wanted to leave the contract for a while now but to do so would have been very expensive. The video/commentary section is key to its success. Although, if we're in the Premier League, finding highlights and live streams online will be much easier. I like the website we have right now, it's grown on me but I suppose a more professional and polished site would be good for the clubs image.
Out of the independent websites I've seen, as much as it pains me to say it, I quite like Pompey's. I wouldn't want anything like Leeds United's though. It just seems to be a more disjointed and disorganised version of our own.
After every match, there should be one picture from the match gallery made available to download as a wallpaper or whatever. One picture that is specifically saved from the quality and size reductions. I think the ManUre site has something like this, where after each match there's one picture chosen for a 'Match Wallpaper'.
