Life in the fast lane these days for us Sunderland fans. Saturday FA Cup quarter finals, Tuesday Premier League climb, Saturday back to he SoL foe 3 more points then it will be back to the cup, getting like one of those proper teams, you know the ones, we are used to watching them on the telly week after week after week. It seems every game is bigger than the last one for us now and I know its been said before but, remember, this season is all about survival, don't expect to much from MON until he gets his own players in over the summer, some survival like. It will be fascinating to see what teams we get over the next three games, will he wont he and I'm sure we will lose again, yes we know we will but, it will be a shock. Sorry for a rather disjointed ramble about nothing going nowhere for no reason, this success thing is starting to feel like the old days, still pissed on a Monday morning, only this time without drink.
Bardo's happy and praise for Colback...... Phil Bardsley was happy with Sunderland's work after the Black Cats earned an FA Cup with Budweiser replay against Everton. The tie will head back to the Stadium of Light after Bardsley and Tim Cahill traded goals in a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park over the weekend. The Scottish international netted his first goal of the season with a fine low drive from outside the box after latching onto a quick free-kick by Jack Colback. Cahill equalised soon afterwards, but Bardsley was simply happy to see his side's name in the hat for the semi-finals. "It was a great spot by Jack [Colback] and I knew I had quite a bit of room to get the shot off - fortunately enough for me I hit the target," the defender told SAFC TV. "I was expecting Seb [Larsson] to cross it because we all know he's got fantastic delivery, but fortunately Jack spotted me in space and I managed to hit the back of the net. "Before kick-off our aim was to still be in the competition and be in the draw for the next round and we've done that, so we're all delighted." A bruising encounter produced five yellow cards, with the first half in particular played out amidst something of a derby atmosphere. "It was a feisty game," Bardsley said. "But we had to come out and compete against Everton because Goodison Park is a tough place to come. "We got the result we wanted and brought them back to the Stadium of Light. We're still in the competition and that's all that matters. "Now we get to bring them back to our place and have another go." The two teams will meet again next week - provisionally Tuesday - with the winners advancing to face Liverpool in the semi-finals at Wembley. Almost 6,000 Sunderland fans roared their side on at Goodison and Bardsley says the cup run has really caught the public's imagination. But he has warned that the players must be fully focused on a tough task ahead in the second game. "The fans were phenomenal. It's been the talk of the town for the last couple of weeks - getting through and getting to Wembley," he said. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves, though. The replay is a massive game for us
