First questions, everyone seems to be agreeing, and so do I with a tight call between Button and Alonso for driver of the day, probably in that order for me though.

First thoughts on Sky - They might as well just put Georgie in a bikini and be done with it, as that's all that she is there for. The patronizing/simple questions might be being aimed a the Sky Sports Footbalist supporter-ers that might have strayed onto Sky F1, who Sky think can only have their attention held by some totty and not being made to think too much, but it's not for me. Crofty needs a little time to realise that he isn't on the radio any more and needs to stop telling us how many car lengths there are between cars, we can see with our own eye Crofty, that's how TV works. I miss Eddie, DC and Jake though, but maybe the new team will bed in. Damon is good and knowledgeable, but not exactly Mr charisma and the anchor is not as good as Jake, and the lake of "banter" between DC and Eddie was noticeable I thought.

Still early days for Sky tho.

    • Best Driver: Alonso - Button was supreme but Alonso earned a good chunk of his salary today.
    • Worst Driver: Poor, poor Massa. Very poor. I thought his incident with Senna was 100% Massa's fault. He kept his foot in when he had no chance of staying on the circuit.
    • Best Rookie: Vergne I suppose. Raikkonen put in a decent race, too.
    • Best Team: McLaren
    • Worst Team: I dunno. Mercedes - should be better than 2011 and perhaps they will be but not today.
    • Best Overtake: Vettel on Rosberg.
    • Funniest-moment: "Why do I have all the time blue flags?"
    • Most Surprising Result: Alonso. Why was I worried?
    • Least Surprising Result: Massa.
    • Special Mention to: Perez.
    • Race Rating: 6/10
    • First thoughts on Sky ? Race and qualifying coverage was almost entirely without merit. However, the continuous programming of a dedicated channel is commendable; they just need to provide more variety and less repeat programming.

    •Worst Driver: Hamilton
    •Best Rookie: Ricciardo
    •Best Team: McLaren, Sauber

•Best Overtake: Raikkonen round the outside
•Funniest-moment: Raikkonen complaining about the blue flags
    •Most Surprising Result: Kobayashi, Ricciardo
    •Least Surprising Result: HRT
•Special Mention to: Maldonado - if he would have just settled for 6th he would have got my vote for best drive; the Saubers' strategy paid dividends; Alonso - how does he do it
    •Race Rating: 8/10
•First thoughts on Sky: Glad I haven't got it, sounds like a complete waste of money to me. Typical Sky, all glam and little else

I think everyone is being too hard on Massa. He certainly is not as good as Alonso (but who is ) and he took his car up to eighth from sixteenth. He already had a puncture when he hit Senna.

His fastest lap was 1.6 seconds slower than his team-mate.
He failed to outqualify his team-mate despite his team-mate crashing.
    He got overtaken by Sauber.
His crash into Senna was entirely his fault.

Can't help but feel that the votes for Hammy as worst driver are extremely harsh. He came third... not sure why he'd get a vote over Massa who (imo) has totally lost it.

Each to their own though. :)

Best Driver: Tie between JB and Alonso
    Worst Driver: Massa
    Best Rookie: Vergne
    Best Team: McLaren
    Worst Team: HRT
    Best Overtake: Vettel on Rosberg
    Funniest-moment: Raikkonen's 2blue flags" moment
Most Surprising Result: Maldonado racing wheel to wheel with Alonso
Least Surprising Result: Vettel's luck with the safety car
Special Mention to: Maldonado for really being racy, although I felt he was at fault with Grosjean. Also, crashing on the last lap is pretty poor, he should have just banked the points, especially considering how badly Williams need this to be a good season. Speaking of Grosjean, I think it was a real shame he didn't get to complete the race considering how well he qualified.
    Race Rating: 8/10
First thoughts on Sky ? I made my thoughts clear on the sky thread. To sum up - Get rid of Georgie Thompson, Kravitz and Davidson were woefully under-used and need more screen time for post race analysis, everything else may get better in time (not that I'll bother getting Sky in any case).

Both Williams drivers were guilty of putting their feet down when they really should have eased off the gas.

Senna got hit at the start and had to pit, then worked his way up to where Ricciardo was (who scored points in the end) until he got hit and given a puncture by Massa. I think he was more unlucky that useless.

As for Maldonado, he did that corner 57 times without crashing so really has no excuse for crashing on the 58th time.

The thing with Maldo is that i just wasn't shocked when that crash happened. He always looked on the edge. It was a great drive but you can't ignore the fact he wrecked it. Senna should probably not be judged on this one, given that his race was ruined by others pretty early on and then again while he was recovering. But then again he should have qualified much higher.

It doesn't really matter anyway. Williams can probably be safe in the knoledge that this will be a much better season.

Maldonado has battered Senna all weekend, and Senna is supposed to be the better driver. Therefore, Senna = Dogshite.

That is pretty stupid logic. Maldonado is better than people give him credit for, and Massa beat Alonso over the weekend a couple of times last season, does that make Alonso crap? Answer = no.
