I came onto this forum for one reason
I went for the new media job at the club I started just viewing the site to guage stuff but it became much more very quickly and I enjoy the colour and I believe it will only get more colourful
One thing I had pressed into my skull

You learn something everyday and this forum is outstanding and popular not just with QPR fans

I find it interesting that people make so much of leaving the forum. After all it's here to both share, and hear, others opinions. As in every footie discussions, people have different views, different opinions and different ways to express themselves. I see the posters, with their input and non-footy comments as just a part of their persona; and quite interesting for that. OK, sometimes it gets a bit personal - but hey, football is a serious and passionate subject. I don't think people genuinely mean any harm or rudeness (unless we have the unfortunate WUMs that tend to enter the fray and deserve to be dispatched with vigour!).
I don't always agree with opinions here, but am always interested to read everyone's input on the footie; and have a real laugh at some of the non-footie subject.
Mostly.... Good contribution and effort from everyone over the last year to make an interesting, and sometimes light-hearted forum. Well done to everyone, long may it continue.

Great post Roller. Put into words what I think many, including myself, have felt and I personally couldn't have said it any better.

From my view the boards in a bit of a transition period. We have the hub of the board in the likes of yourself, Brixton, Sooper etc and also have the influx from the likes of Flyer, Valciennes who had their own board so brought over their own little community. A town inside a city if you want to get all artsy fartsy about it!

    Roller,
Firstly let me say what a great OP that was. I haven't been here long enough to comment on the boards evolution, but you have some very valid points.

Now, as a newbie with Flyer, Ricardo, Judo et al..
I REALLY like this board. I has a great mix of inteligence (or not) opinions, argumenmts and other teams fans posting. I find it really refreshing.
If we were to lose the arguing and in fighting then it would be boring. i certainly wouldnt be here if swords, Frank and even cerny left.

i have visited and stil do; many boards. this is the most open, inteligent one i've ever posted on. i may have a certain dislike for certain people on here, but, at least they post very ineresting and informative points.
I'm a great believer that everyone (even FJ after last night)has a right to voice thier own opinion. No matter how misguided we all may think it is.

You are correct. there is a massive influx of new posters, but does that not show how good and popular this forum is? I think its time to embrace change; as per the team; and let others have a say. It may not be what you want to hear but i always say: dont ask the question if you dont want to hear the answer.

re your brekie comment..i had a bacon omlete !!

    have a good day mate

A good post as ever roller. I liked soopers analogy of our forum being like ' an Internet Pub. ' that sums it up quite well for me. I also think that our current predicament reflects the quality of threads, with many topics descending into negative repetition of the same discussions that you can find elsewhere. And to some degree that's understandably so.
It's only our current position and recent results that have curtailed the buoyancy of the banter at the moment. A couple of wins and everything will be rosy again.

I think that there's a certain sense of irony at work here roller. As one of our more quality posters on here, perhaps you should post more often, but you can't or won't because if you did maybe that quality would subside. ( Same could be said of Brixton too. ) So please keep doing what your doing, as we all come on here for the same thing. We all love QPR.

When it comes to analysis, be it team performance or the state of this board at any one time, Roller has always been a safe and deliberate pair of hands in everyone's opinion.

However, it's the responses received by a variety of other posters on this thread that have impressed me today, with refreshingly positive and intelligent comments by DT/FJ and Queenslander in particular.

With that in mind, the outlook for the board and the quality of contributions going forward certainly looks a bit brighter. No mean feat given our poor results for much of what has been a very disappointing season for all concerned.

Can only echo Nines' words about the mood on here improving with a couple of favourable results.

You'll find that happens when you've entered your tenth decade.

I've a suspicion you know well what an X-Rated site is, ye randy old goat. Not that you need them what with all those Portuguese prostituta knocking about. :emoticon-0103-cool:

We're gonna need your dining experiences, Wubba, to lighten what may be a pretty brutal end to the season

I've had flu over the last three weeks, Swords (it is flu and not a heavy cold - bloody aching all over!) so I''ve been looking for Sparky and the boys to cheer me up - but they haven't yet. I should make it to the Liverpool game - I hope you're right about beating them. If we can do that, it might just be the start of something interesting.

Good to see your name on the board again. Assume the hardware is holding up!

Yes indeed it is. I've given up visiting dubious Websites if you know what I mean. There's only so much Norton Anti-Virus can do!

Good to hear you're fighting fit again mate.

Yeah, anti-virus only does so much. Well, you know what they say, - there's no such thing as a free lunch!

(I won't go on about lunch or I'll have Roller on my case!)

Nice post Roller and thanks for the mention, unfortunately I have to agree with you about the way a disharmony has been prevalent lately and there is far too much back biting and complete inflexibility of some posters.

This has kept me quite for periods and away for other short periods I particularity detest the language used to describe some of our players and such as phrases "get rid of" "clear out the rubbish" and far far worse than these I simply find it disrespectful. Over the past 2/3 months I have started writing far more replies than I have actually posted only to stop half way through and not bother as I do not want to enter into an impossible train of thoughts, this disheartens me.

However you have mentioned a lot of positives that funnily enough I agree with these also and these keep my interest in coming back most days even if it is only to have a quick scan and I believe there are enough good posters on hear to keep the board alive that have a great opinions and humorous and these are the people that make this board what it is. That does not mean I would discourage new posters and you are always going to get a complete dopey bollocks amongst them, that’s life.

    Keep on trucking guys. :emoticon-0148-yes:

The beauty of coming to a thread like this late is that someone is likely to have said, more eloquently than you can, what you think. So cheers Flanman and ditto your post.

I must say, i really like this board, and its pretty much the only one i visit now.

Have enjoyed reading everyones comments on here, and they all seem pretty balanced. I havent posted as much as I would have liked recently, been so busy with my new job, but have been visiting most days.

Really great Post, Roller. <ok> I don't know if I've been here (Not606) for a year, but I also frequented 606.
I may not be the loudest, or the most prolific.
But I do know what I am. A QPR supporter.
Always have, and I always will be.

I always take into account different opinions; the only time I've classed someone as a WUM is when Frank Jesus made the innapropriate comment about Muamba...

Anyway. This board has been great for me; so much help and information about the R's that i wouldnt get otherwise.

I don't want it to die. I have seen a decline in the more... Eloquent users; Col, Flanman, Northolt, It really hurts to know that... As QPR supporters, we have made other QPR supporters so miserable that they don't even want to discuss something that should be enjoyed.

I really wish some of the actual WUMs would f**k off, and other people who are just being completely idiotic about situations would calm down and see sense.
