Where do the major religions address homosexuality itself, rather than acts of homosexuality? The Bible, for example, says that a two men having sex should be killed. It doesn't say anything about fancying people that are of the same sex as you, as far as I'm aware. Does the Quran directly address what should happen to the body of somebody that's committed suicide?
Reading this is a bit like five football fans arguing about why their team is better! Nothing makes any sense. All I know is that, for an illiterate man, Muhammad sure had to be good at memory (both in reciting the archangel word-for-word after his epileptic fits had completed and in his cross continent trade explouts prior to becoming some kind of prophet) and then that his followerds had to be darned good in rememebring word-for-word 70 years later to be able to write it down. Nearly as clever as the bible being written and professed to be the truth 400 years after Jesus died. Or that Sodom and Gomorrah has anything to do with the New Testament. But I am happy for anyone who wants to live a closeted and brainwashed life Live and let live must go every way. Homophobia, racism, sexism must be challenged. Thing is, none of us know our own prejudices fully until we take on board others' reactions to our comments and accept we are all likely to be very wrong (and unknowingly bad) a large percentage of time, especially in the eyes of those from a completely alien culture
I take that to be 'addressing' homosexuality. As far as I am aware the major religions dont measure things in terms 'fancying' hetrosexual or homosexual. If anything the focus is on restraining oneself, hetro or otherwise. The penalty for adultry and sex outside marriage is severe too if the scriptures are to go by. People tend to forget this As for your question. Suicide in Islam is a major sin. The Sunnah (actions) of the Prophet were that he didnt offer the funeral prayers for a suicide. Yet it was not forbidden. Most scholars would see it as ok to do so today.
Therefore if religion does not take each case on its merits, and says suicide is wrong, then said religion is WRONG! End of.
seems to me you are happy living your life like that if it is based on what drivel you have written but if it makes you happy, eh
what you lure me into a false sense of friendship by welcoming me back so genuinely, then this? like an arrow through my heart lucky I believe suicide is wrong, or else......
So you're agreeing with me, then? Homosexuality itself isn't a sin, but homosexual acts are. (According to the Abrahamic relgions, anyway.) Is there some list of sins that prohibit a traditional burial in Islam?
Of course we're friends, you know that Can a catholic and a raghead not be friends in the current world situation? no offence
Depends on your view of what constitutes something. To me homosexuality IS in the act. A guy who fancies blokes, doesnt act upon it, gets married etc isnt homosexual is he? But on a basic level I guess I do agree I dont know ALL scenarios, but prohibit is probably too strong a word. I know that the 'normal' procedure doesnt apply in certain cases. EG those who are martyred or babies that are born dead dont have the 'normal/traditional' burials I put it in '' as not sure of the right word
