    He wasn't great. His control and lay off's were okay.

    I Downing must of got his leg over and was on a high going into the game.

    In all fairness I wanted to see downing and Mandy do Ok for your mob due to being English.. Downing is the only genuine left footed wingers we have so would be good for the country if he did play well.. Think you guys bought him on the back of one very good season for villa, and he hasn't hit those heights again.. Yet.

    Fair play.

    He was never good enough though imo (Downing) and never will be. At tops a back up player and I was pissed off when we bought him for 20 mill!

    I thought, 10-12, fair enough he's worth the risk.

    He might improve now mind! Not by much though I suspect.

    I think he just tries to play in a way he isn't suited. He tries to run with the ball an beat players when I have seen him play an he isn't skilful enough for that..

    If he just worked on his passing and tried to play in a more beckham esq manner he would be useful..
