Pretty poor from Massa today, a lot slower than his team-mate (as usual) and, once again, involved in a race incident. If Massa had continued I think he would've been in for a stop-go, I thought Senna had Kimi'd him, but he refused to yield and hit him, and I remember him doing a similar thing to Button last season at the same place I think. I don't think he belongs in F1 any more, he's always been erratic but now he's slow and has poor judgement, a bad combination.
Well, it wasn't a good race for Massa, that's for sure. But who knows, maybe he'll pick it up for the majority of the other seasons. Doesn't look like it though. I'd quite like to see Rosberg in the other Ferrari. I think he needs a good car before I can firmly place him in the 'average' camp. I've voted yes purely because Australia may have just been a bad race. Somehow I think it will change to a no before long.
I have a soft spot for Massa... dispute his errors of late, but he just isn't Ferrari material anymore, maybe not even F1 material. I'd think that some DTM would suit him better these days. He can't just keep taking the line like that... it's dangerous. Ferrari should give Sauber a bung to get Kobayashi to be Alonso's apprentice.
I agree. Question should have read along the lines "Should Massa still be in a Ferrari?" To ask if he still belongs in F1 is very harsh, so I voted yes. If the above question was asked, I would answer no.
What is the right question? "What the **** are you doing," perhaps? He doesn't belong in a Ferrari, that's "for sure." I don't know who else would have him though.
I voted yes. He doesn't belong in Ferrari anymore, but a move to a midfield team (with a weaker teammate) could be all that he needs to find his old form. I believe confidence is the key to getting the best out of Massa, as we saw in 2008. He's taking a constant beating from Alonso and I think that's doing a lot of damage. In a midfield team he wouldn't have to worry about a near faultless teammate always obliterating him. He would be able to establish himself as team leader, build up his confidence and eventually get back to the level he was at pre-2010. I'm not sure any midfield teams will want him based on his form in last two years, but I hope he gets the chance. Perez proved today that he's ready for Ferrari. Massa proved that he's ready to be replaced. Please do the right thing Ferrari.
I voted YES because he is obviously as talented as alot of other drivers who are either in, or potentially in F1. He is a long way from the top 6 or 8 drivers but better than some of the dross that has hindered the tail enders for many a year. So YES to F1, NO to Ferrari!
I voted yes, but he shouldn't drive for Ferrari. Alonso is destroying him, and he would benefit from a smaller team that lacks so much beaurocracy. Straight swap with Kobayashi (i don't like/rate Perez).
I voted NO. But oddly enough, it is because I agree with you! I think the wrong question is being asked, since it is a little too black and white. As others have said, Massa may have some place in F1 (for instance: with a team like HRT, since, in my opinion, he is better than Karthikeyan). But I have been saying for two seasons that he does not justify a Ferrari seat.
I think Massa has been important enough in his time to deserve a chance to redeem himself elsewhere. First he had a hellish accident, then Alonso landed on his doorstep. I think that it was a combination of both that has resulted in his present crisis; I'd like to see him get his dignity back but it will have to be somewhere else.
It's not as if he lacks talent, you don't win multiple races being crap. The problem is Alonso. He has the car designed for him, he has the team focusing 100% on him, he has 1st say in every department, so Felipe ends up being screwed over by the same people who nearly propelled him to glory. A fresh start elsewhere is a must, i pity the man who replaces him though, they'll suffer just as much.
I'm afraid he has already come back. And like all other 'come-backers' of late, he's not been successful. Perhaps Räikkönen will be the exception to the rule, but one thing's for sure: it won't be Massa…
I voted Yes, but aggree with other people that he doesn't belong at Ferrari anymore. But I think you are wrong with the blame of the accident. It was a pure racing incidient and Massa was not to blame for it at all, in fact he had no where to go, if he had backed off Senna would of still clipped his front wing.
