I'm sorry but there is no excuse if we are to fail to win next week! We are playing an absalute shocking team. As for today, theres no disgrace in losing away to Newcastle. But, we should and have to win next week!
Ratings: Ruddy - 7.5 - A decent match by any goalkeeper's standards, except a normal one by Ruddy's. Blackburn at home remains the only blot on his Ruddy for England CV all season long. Naughton - 5.5 - Nothing much to say here. Could he have done more to stop JG assisting the goal? Ward - 5.5 - Left Ruddy a bit exposed at times. Whitbred - 6.5 - Some good passing, and came closest to scoring but for Krul's epic save. Drury - 6 - Let down by crossing today. Fox - 7 - Our best outfield player on the pitch today, whenever we looked like unlocking the Newcastle door, it was he who was the lockpick. Bennett - 6 - Not much time on the ball, let down by final delivery. Pilkington - 6 - See Bennett Surman - 5.5 - Quiet game, should have done better with a chance deep in the area. Howson 5.5 - Didn't do enough to justify starting ahead of Hoolahan. Morrison - 5.5 - Another lonely day for Steve, lack of service I blame, but didn't really get any chances. Failed to replicate anything like the threat offered by Cissé/Ba.
Grrrr Morison. Seriously other than his head he offers nothing, lazy, slow, terrible touch, clumsy and clueless with the ball at his feet.
yep, no shame in losing to the sixth placed team and their gaff. and we played better than last week. goals have dried up a bit at the front would be my slight concern
Cant help but agree regarding Morison. Lacked any form of aggression or enthusiasm (could of been conceived as lazy). Some of this may be down to service but he wasn't chasing much and would much rather of had Jackson or Holt there instead. Thought Bennett had a good game as did Ruddy and our performance was generally much better than recent weeks. An amazing save from Krul denied Whitbread from an equalizer. My chin is up.
I could understand drawing with Wigan cos theyve been playing well of late, but wolves are just plain s**t!
Out of interest would you all of rather we went for Graham in the summer over Moro? I'd happily see him leave this summer for a Rhodes or Rodriguez, or even a Doyle or Fletcher (dreaming) providing Wolves go down. He really wound me up today just wasn't interested and so lazy. That goal by Cisse though...what a finish I'm sure he would miss that 99 times out of 100. Great finish and no shame losing at SJP.
Let's all turn our back on Morrison because we think he's lazy when he plays a game with no service! Pathetic!
I thought we played really well and at times passed the ball incredibly well, Just lacked that cutting edge up front. Agree re: Morison BTW. If we play like that next week we should have no problem beating Wolves IMO. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I don't get to many live games at Carrow Road these days but I am going next week. I haven't seen City lose at home for over three years so hopefully that's a good omen !
I have to agree about Morison. I gave him the thumbs up during the earlier part of the season. But to be honest I don't think he's lazy. I think he's clueless. I have as much ball skill. He isn't bringing the rest of his team mates in to the game and apart from running the channels, he is contributing a thing. And if he keeps telling his mates to **** off when he's cocked another move up then he can go on the list. He was the real let down in an otherwise competent performance. I was pleased with Howson and see him as a real asset and I'm sure he is going to keep Wes out of the side once his fies the sight on his rifle. But I was disappointed with Pilkington but his touch was good so next week I would like to see, injuries aside. Ruddy Martin Ward Whitbread Naughton Bennet Fox Howson Pilkington (or Hoolahan in the hole) Jackson Holt
