I don't know what hat you pulled Millwall from, but you need to check the hatstand for an alternative Incidentally, what was the connection you had in mind?
Yes You're forgetting something - you need to work out what the list is of and then you can work out what the 6th team on the list is!
If I mention Workington and Southport; that's probably the connection given away, but the 6th team........?
Are we looking for something that is not at all obvious Devo? Its not that you know someone at all these clubs, or have been there and then rated their best meat & potatoe pie with a good strong cup of tea or something is it?
OK, let's look again at the list: Wigan, Wimbledon, Hereford, Cambridge Utd, Oxford Utd, ????? I will give you the connection, it's up to you to tell us the 6th team on the list: The connection (remember I gave a clue of Southport and Workington) is that these are the last six sides to have gained their League status by being elected into the league. Wigan replaced Southport in 1978, Wimbledon replaced Workington in 1977, Hereford replaced Barrow in 1972, Cambridge replaced Bradford Park Avenue in 1970, Oxford Utd were elected in 1962, replacing the original Accrington Stanley, who folded the previous season. So, having given you all that information, I now, not only require the 6th team, but also the team they replaced!
The 6th team were Peterborough United season 1960/61 when they went on to win the Fourth Division championship having been elected to replace Gateshead at the end of the 1959-60 season.
I'm sure you will find this one a lot easier. Southport ââ¬â Hartlepool ââ¬â Chester City ââ¬â Chester City ââ¬â Hartlepool - ????? (Oldest First)
Easier! Chester City FC went defunct recently , but are now Chester FC? Hartlepool elected their Monkey team mascot as mayor of Hartlepool(seriously) under the banner of the banana protection league or some such gimmick! How is this easier, Southport are rubbish. Are they all rubbish teams with no real history? If so I will say Southport again as the 6th team and it also puts the question into perfect symetry. !
