Yeah, and they're all fairly gritty teams, the type that can give us trouble. Hull will be a continuation of that, so let's hope Saints have some more of that reserve left! What would be nice when Reading visit is that we put on a vintage Saints performance, and beat them as we know we can. If they beat us, and we go on to get promoted, there'll always be that question mark from Reading fans of how we were lucky and they were the better side. However, I also couldn't care less, as long as the result looks good, and/or we finish in a top two slot! Anyway, back to relishing today!
Hmm, not sure about that. Don't think Rickie would agree also, as Adam plays a big part in his goals, with assists, creating the space. It's definitely an attacking unit, with a focal man at the pinnacle. Rickie may not be as effective without the components involved in the build up. cf. today, where Adam laid on a square ball to Rickie in front of an empty goal - a layoff he literally couldn't miss (although he almost did!).
Although I do appreciate that that square ball could have come from Schneiderlin, but you get the point. I saw the Rickie part, as turned on Final Score just as it went in, and the BBC had it down as Lallana. (See previous thread, re: Merson.)
If we go up after being in top 2 all season I doubt anyone will question our ability. It's how you do over the whole season...every team has ups and downs. We'll have the chance to prove ourselves in the PL so none of us will really care. Heard a discussion earlier today about Swansea, Norwich and QPR. The point being made was that the first two had good teams which carried this into the PL, whereas QPR bought good players but couldn't find form.
Yep Fran, details will be easily forgotten should we go up. Infact, the entire season may well be permanently deleted from my brain in the ensuing celebrations.
Lambert on Player complimented Sharp and said that he'd put the ball just where he wanted it and the Millwall defender put a leg out. Says it was a defininate pen. Also added that the team were buzzing and looking forward to Tuesday.
Correct! Also, Lallana played a one-two with Lambert, rolled it to Rickie who smashed it against the bar in the early stages. They link up very well. As soon as the ball is played into Rickie, Adam is around him in the space looking to take it on, pick out a team-mate or wait for Rickie to find some space.
Rickie is a modest bloke and He has given credit to his team-mates on many occasions. If he was playing in some, ahem, hoofball outfit then he would have a good tally but think about his goals. The penalties you could perhaps mainly credit him for bringing the foul but those from open play he has usually had a fantastic cross from Adam or superb delivery from Fox or cushioned header from Chung or whatever. He is top of the tree because he is a great striker in a great team who play unselfishly for each other. Then you look at the assists. He is a legend, but he is playing in a classy side who are definitely better than "the sum of their parts"
Much more like Swansea/Norwich than QPR who tried to overhaul with big names and it failed. Take note.
Perhaps Fran might give an opinion on this, but I suspect the women might prefer a picture of Rickie topless with the AK47 photoshopped in? Or perhaps you could find one of Morgan, just to annoy St Godders.
See, I know what woman want. And sadly, it's not my middle-aged, blubbery frame. This is not a problem, as I rushed Mrs Fodder to the Altar whilst I still had most of my hair and I could see my own shoes when I looked downwards. Being a Catholic, divorce is out of the question, although I was slightly concerned to find her googling, "can I get an annulment after having 2 children?" I must stop introducing her to people as my first wife. It's obviously getting to her.
That's what I say...it's taken me 61 years to get myself into my present shape...why ruin it with exercise now.
